If it's still stock everything is waterproof on the truck. Just take and hose it all off really good till it's all clean and oil the bearing around the wheels. There is 8 all together 2 per wheel and than you would need to pick up some motor oil from your LHS and oil the motor bearings on a regular basis that's all there is to it.

If the stock bearings are rubber sealed then would putting wd40 do any good? I mean, wouldn't the oil just stick on the outside and not really get into the bearing? Just wondering......

It will still get in the bearings to an extent but what your actually doing is cleaning the dirt out of the bearings and not letting them rust. And if your not all water proof than what isn't. Your ESC? Servo? Receiver? Just take that off and clean it by hand with a towel and hose the rest.

^ROFL. But back on topic. There isn't a motor I can think of not water proof. The only thing that aren't all that common waterproof is esc servos and radio. Motors are brushed or brushless if I'm not mistaken.

if ur not water roof u shouldn be in mud?

take the motor out, hose it down, wd-40 metal, wipe off wd-40, clean bearings with light oil, if its brushed u can rinse out ur motor with water than buy some motor oil and spray some in than clean the motor bearings.

There's nothing not to be not waterproof. I've ran all of mine completely submerged. Couple titans, vxl, two trinity 15 and a 17t brushed motor, 5.5t ezrun, 8.5t ezrun, and the 2200kv monster ezrun and not a problem with them.

It wasn't because of the water. If it was a brushed motor, alot of racers submerge them in water to break in the brushes.

My Slash is all stock and all I do is soak it with a garden hose, scrub it with a tire brush and rinse it off. Then apply a good coating of WD-40 to the whole truck.

remember to clean the mud right away, don't wait for it to dry, cleaning will be more of a hassle then. Should the mud dries, hose it down until it's wet again..wait for a few minutes, the mud should fall off easily.

You use the WD-40 to displace the water that is in/on the parts that will rust. dust is not the problem.
