    This happens with the Erevo's center drive shafts, nobody cares because it's not a pretty blue color and it's not under a clear cover right under your nose.

    What bothers me is that dirt has a path straight to the spur bearing.

    The bearing is sealed and only fine dust will get in there. All bearings need regular maintenance anyways. The stub axle bearings get way more abuse than the center shaft one and they last quite a bit of time, with regular maintenance.

    If you don't want to attract dirt to your bearings I suggest you use some silicone spray to lube them instead of oil. Silicone spray wont attract dirt and is good for about 400*.
