    LifePO4 for Slash 4x4

    I ordered my Slash 4x4 from my LHS!!!

    I know the stock VXL3 esc handles up to a 3s lipo at 11.1V -
    I want to start using the LifePO4 battery packs although the ratings are slightly different - Can anybody tell me if the VXL3 can handle a 4s 13.2V or should I use the 3s 9.9V to be on the safe side?

    That's what I thought...until the need 4 speed will dictate an upgrade to the "Monster"....and 6s...and a bag of spare parts....

    I plan to run mine on 2s A-123, judging by the performance of the 6-7 cell NIMH pack we saw in the video it should be plenty. One problem with 2s may be short run times and lots of heat from the high current loads, 3s may be a better choice to keep the amps down and have it fast enough to be fun. I can only compare it to my AE B-44, with 2s 123's and a 6900kv mamba it was insane fast way more than you could ever use on a track. Now the B-44 is pounds lighter than the 4x4 slash but I don't see any issue with making enough power. ........Impact

    I also put my name on the list for pre-order at my LHS. At this time my LHS will order when it is available. I don't care about the price yet. I am assuming $350+ and I will pop for some accessories as well. I want the sway bars for sure and the Big Bores too.

    My lhs was told they'd have 4 of them around the end of Nov and one of them is mine. lol My guess on the price would be around $385. Not bad for what you get. I will put that rado into my 1/16 Revo and use my better 2.4 in the new Slash. Then early 2010 I will order a new Summit. I love traxxas.

    It'll prolly be every bit of $399, plus. Don't forget that with all the demand for this truck (and anything newly released) they will likely raise the price some to soften demand. Basic economics... supply and demand.
    I'll be on the hunt for one of these trucks myself.... Can't wait to see how it does stock, and then maybe go over kill with the MMM. I drove to the hobby store today to look at the MMM.....
