    No 2.2 wheels ? !

I was just looking at this vehicle. Haven't read the whole forum, so this might have been covered. But it sure appears to me that 2.2 wheels will not work on this. I have the same problem on my Slash using Jato carriers. This could be a very big problem. Options are so limited in the 30series class tires. If you look at the pic showing the inside of the front wheel, you will see very little clearance.

i see what your saying, and i agree it might be close but i'm not sure it'll be a clearance issue. i guess we'll have to see. so you can't run 30 series at all on the slash? or is it just with the jato carriers?

i thought most people would be ditching them for 1/8 adapters from aka, new era or integy. maybe even flm if they change out the arms too.

what's the purpose of using the 30 series? more tire area in contact with the ground?

On my Slash, I have to run 30 series. I wish I could run 2.2 . I would probably want to run a Masher type tire on this, basically a Stampede tire. But I think your stuck with , as you stated, going 1/8 scale buggy, running stock, or running the 30 series , which use a bigger wheel then a 2.2.

Sweet, Im glad. I dont even like looking at the goofy tire hanging out the side of the body creations....It helps keep people from cheating at the tracks by running 2.2s.

    If you run these wheels,
    http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXXXS7&P=7

    These foams,
    http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXYDZ2&P=7

And pick a 2.2/3.0 tire of your choice you will be at the highest level of grip possible on the track, for bashing just leave to stockers on and pin it........Impact

So it seems the question doesn't have a solid answer yet, 1 yes, 1 no. But I thought it a good time to revive the thread that brought the ? to light

I don't know.....my slash 2wd wheels were rubbing on the 4x4. Although it was very slight rubbing. Have you still run them, or do you shim the wheel out more to clear the front hubs?

    2.2 tires

I run Axial beadlocks front and rear on my 2wd slash with no issues! Remember the very first slash to be released had 2.2 wheels and tires...

Please do not bring up running them on the 2wd. That is irrelevant, they use the same size hub and offset, not necessarily the same wheels.

So far it seems that a standard 2.2 wheel rubs.

The 2.2's rub....... period. Move on to bigger wheels, Asheck you want to run the Masher type of tire. Simply stretch them over the 2.8 wheels and you're golden.

Could you maybe post a pic? Just so people know where the problem lies.

I actually already have the 30 series Badlands. I just brought this thread up because I called it 2 months ago.

How about the jconcepts tense beadlocks? Are they offset enough to clear the hubs? Just curious, as its a setup I'm interested in.

Thinking along the lines of this wheel/tire/body setup on a 4x4 slash FTW:

It's a shame if 2.2's do in fact rub on the 4X4. I wanted to pick one up for a project but 2.2's not fitting completely puts a stop to my plans. I'll have to find another base to start with if that's the case

It all depends on how bad they rub. A little shaving and triming goes a long way. Again no sure answer yet. When my plat comes I'll be doing what I have to within reason to try and get them on

Because believe it or not, some people want to use this great chassis for more than just a CORR truck

A project I had in mind calls for 2.2" Proline Flatirons and Eight Shooter bead locks. Since it looks like they won't fit I'll have to find another 4WD truck to base my project on.

I don't think shaving will help, I just put some 2.2 on mine and it's not even close!

Those of you trying 2.2 wheels...have you tried both front and rear offsets for a Rustler/Stampede? The extra offset from the fronts may push it out far enough to keep from rubbing.

Maybe you guys can find a wheel with a deeper offset. I just threw on some RPM Revolver 2.2" Wide Crawler wheels from my MERV and they fit on and didnt even come close to rubbing. Not sure if there are any wheels with an offset like this though.
