Looking for a dual lipo charger.

Anyone have any suggestions? Ive got about 10 lipo batteries and only one lipo charger. Looking for suggestions on a dual charger that will support 2-5s lipo. Supporting NiMh would be a plus. Also if they had built in balancer that would be a plus.

I currently have a Onyx 240(only thing i dont like about this is the 90 minute auto shut off) and a Superbrain 977 with a equinox(spelling?) balancer.

These minis use small packs. Just get 1 good charger and charge them in parallel.

+1 on the Hyperion Duo charger though

I thought you're supposed to charge in series?

If you are not opposed to used, see if You can find a duo 1 charger. The only real difference from what I could read is the duo 2 and 3s have discharge capability. You can probably find duo 1s in the 150s or even less. I used to see duo 1s new on ebay for $200.

Icharger 208b can charge up to 10s at 350 watts. It can charge (and comes with a balance board) lipo in a series.

8S. 10S only for LiFe cells. The 1010B+ can do 10S LiPo. Also, no mention of power supply availability. These chargers cannot produce the ratings listed above without a higher voltage/amp power supply. Keep that in mind because from your original post I'd assume you only have the 10A supply that came with your 977.

hyperion duo 3 is fantastic. if you only charge small packs the polycharge 4 is nice but you will also need astro BLinky balancers for each port

I charge 2 lipos and 2 nimh in series using a Triton2 EQ ac/dc charger. I like it because it has ac support built in, 100watts, built in balancer, 10 memories. It is affordable if you have a TW discount, otherwise a bit pricey.

I charge 2 x 3S LiPo's in series with a Hyperion EOS0606i, the same is true for any other LiPo charger out there. Someone asked me how I did this in a PM, here the cut and paste from my response.

    bought this adapter from *********

... and just cut the extra red wire in the middle of the splitter. So on one of the 3S connectors you'll have the 4 cables: red, black and two white. Then on the other 3S connector you'll only have a black and two white. Get the battery that you connected the taps to the 3S connector that only has 3 cables and plug in the series connector to the plug that has 2 black leads going to it and then get the one that has the black and red leads to the other 3S connector the one that has all 4 cables connected to the taps. It'll look like this:

And you'll end up with this...

    es.

This page helped me out on how to make that work. Go down to the "Balance connector" sections towards the bottom and select "3S + 3S: Lipo with typical connector", you'll get a good illustration.

    Hope this helps

The only problem with the 606i is its limited to 50 watts, which is what held me back from getting one. This means for charging two 3s together, you are limited to a charge rate of about 2.2mah. Just makes it for a merv sized lipo but you can only charge at 1c.
When I series charge two packs of 7cell nimh 5000mah, I am pushing 84 charging watts.
Just something to keep in mind.

I have used 4 of these chargers with portable balancers and this set-up works real nice. Here is the charger: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXPYT8&P=ML and here is the balancer: http://www.commonsenserc.com/product...roducts_id=549, You can store up to 10-different batteries and charge a lipo up to 10.0 amps on these chargers, I no longer have 4 of the chargers, I only kept 1 and 3 ultra balancers because I went and bought 2 very nice Bantam Charger/Balancers, these:http://www.commonsenserc.com/product...roducts_id=742, but I found mine for $250.00 each on ebay. The team Checkpoint charger is really nice and you can also find it on ebay for around $125.00 and the ultra balancers come in handy for checking the cell voltage in a battery during or after a run. I have never seen a moderator post threads unless he was shutting down a thread and it's funny that he showed up about the same time username "Revo1" disappeared, very curious????

Nope! You can charge lipos in series or in parallel. I personally prefer parallel and at times have 4 packs charging at once in parallel. I like a charger with lots of amps .... like the iCharger 208B.

Parallel takes more amps ..... series takes more volts ..... and either way they add up to the same watts!!

Ok so if i am charging two 2s lipos in series and im charging at 2 amps, would that mean that each battery is being charged at 1 amp? So i could double the amps as well when i do this. Is that correct?
