Yeah I made my own though. I bought a heap of 2S,3S,4S and 6S balancing extnetions from *********. I made 4S into 2x2S and also 6S into 2x3S. Heaps faster then charging only one batt at a time. Just make sure that you connect your batteries to the Y adapter first then the 4S plug into the balancing board. When charged disconnect the 4S plug from the balancing board first then your batteries.

It's better just to buy a dual charger/balancer and you don't have to jerry rig everything. See how nice a dual charger/balancer is:

Yeah it might be more ideal but it also is much more expensive then using just one charger and buying the adpater.

Does the balancing still work correctly like that?

I've built my own 2S + 2S > 4S harness and it works like a charm. I have two chargers, so I can charge a total of 4 packs at once.

I did a lot of reading on the subject and founf this to be the best resource:
    http://rc-monster.com/forum/showthre...g+lead+adaptor

If you buy 4S and 2S extension cables, you can carefully remove the pins from the plugs and make the balancing part of the harness without any soldering. The key to doing this safely is to follow the guide and bundle the balancing wires and charge wires together so that you do not get the sides mixed up and have a short. I've used these for 10 charge cycles or so and have no complaints.

You guys act like you have to buy a charger every week. Stop and think about it for a minute, If you buy a very nice charger/balancer, it should last you you a very long time and will handle anything that comes along, i started with cheap chargers and everytime I wanted to step up to a nicer battery, I found myself buying a new charger, well them days are over, I won't never have to buy another charger in my lifetime, unless one of my 2 go bad!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys there's nothing wrong with charging 2s x2 in series and using an adapter to balance both for a combined 4s. I've been doing it on my 0606 and it its a lot faster than charging individually.

Parallel won't let you charge any faster, you're just doubling the capacity and you can still only charge it at 2C, how does parallel speed it up at all? I can see how doing it in series will be faster though.

I charge my 2x3s packs as a 6s pack all the time, keeps the set perfectly matched and balanced.

I ran mine for 25min yesterday on lunch break, when I got home my imbalance was 0.000v between the 6 cells. I had used ~750mah out of each 1600mah pack and recharged both packs on one charger(TP1010C/TP210V clones) in under 12min(3c charge rate). Next charge I will be bumpimg the rate to 4c(6.4amps) I'll do three, four cycles at 4c before zapping them with the full 8amp 5c rate.

Where can you get the y adapters for the balance taps? Specifically for the JST-XH style, I'd like to charge mine in series, I may even try 3 2S packs as one 6S.

I don't know how you can do 2c, the charger will reckonize those 2 batteries as one big one. I'm glad I don't live next to some of these people experimenting with Lipo's and charging, FIRE IN THE HOLE_____________BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm. You seem contradicting. I myself use a hyperion 0606i. I am not buying chargers every week either. Haha. Now that was all i wanted to spend on it and making an adapter is still more in my price range then buying a hyperion duo or two 0606i. Granted a nice charger can take you a long way. It might be good for you to read up on some of this stuff to gain a better knowledge of charging two lipos at once becuase obviously some of you statements are off. But if i had money to burn i would go with a charger that could charge two batts at once.

Decastaneda. Looks like a very clean set up. Great work.

I have a question to Dcastaneda, how could that work when the upper balance harnes of the two doesn´t have a + cable? :O

With the proper adaptors that is quite doable, but unless your using all three packs at the same time you will run into balance issues.

No experimentation on my end, I know exactly what I'm doing. Thanks for your concern Seriously do some reading up on the latest lipos, Hyperion G3 CX and VX cells can take 5c charge rates, Steve Neu also has 5c capable cells. Thunder Power has aproved 3c charge rates since the pro-lite cells as long as you were using the TP1010C/TP205V or TP210V. Not sure what they say on their new Pro Power packs but I've heard they are the best thing going right now, too expensive for me.

Ran for 25min tonight and charged up in a bit under 10min, on one charger. Those G3 CX cells. My packs had a total imbalance of .009v over the 6 cells at the start of the charge and it was down to .004v at the end of the charge, seems to be working perfectly.

cells 2+3 are connected to each other via the series connector. cell 2's +ve lead is the same as cell 3's -ve lead

Wow, those Y harnesses on ebay are quite pricey at $15 a pop, maybe I'll make my own or something. And Buzzsaw, why would I run into balance issues if they all have their own balance tap plugged n?

Follow the link I posted. It gives a nice explanation of why his harness looks that way.

Hey Con. Those should work very well. Maybe buy one of each and then next time you place an order for some more Zippies from HK get a few balancing extentions so you can make your own. What charger are you using? My swallow EQ2 has circuit protection and even if you stuff something up (I tried on purpose just to see) it will stop charging and sound an alarm.

If they aren't used at the same time it is almost impossible to drain them all equally. The balancer will rebalance them all but if the imbalance is too large it could take a while. The manual for my balancer says if the imbalance is between 0.03v to 0.2v to charge at .3a or proceed cautiously with a .5c charge, which would make charging them seperatly quicker.
