whats the advantage of a 2.4ghz system. i was looking on tower and found this

can someone just basically explain what the difference in how many channels there are is, and the whole 2.4ghz thing, it says it "eliminates the need for crystals"....how..?

i just want something basic for me to run maybe 2 or 3 different cars on and nothing thats going to hit the chipstack to hard.

probably a completely noob thing to ask but im more into the truck not the radio system.
