    Perfect Ramp for 1/16's

Guys, last week I was at TRU (large toy store chain), and I saw these flame orange plastic ramps in the clearance area for what ended up being $1.98 after all the clearance calculations at the register http://www.amazon.com/Wheels-Dual-Ac.../dp/B0002TTB18

They are made for a toy called a "FlyWheel", which is something shaped like a car wheel/tire you start spinning on a handle, then release it and it goes over these jumps.
Anyway, I used them this weekend, and they are PERFECT!! one side is awesome for height jumps...I went about 6-7 feet, since I still don't have backup parts, onto grass, and landed on all fours. The other side is alot steeper and causes a perfect back-flip! They are rather flimsy, which makes them perfect for this size RC...you may be able to use them with 1/10's (might have to double-up for strength)
I made an obstacle course and my 5 year old son and I had a great time all weekend with the ramps!! I originally planned to make ramps out of light plywood, but for $2 there is no more perfect ramp in the world (the link shows them at $10 retail, but they were around $5-$6 before discount, which is still a good price)....and no, I don't work at this store
    Have fun!

Just so you know, these aren't as small as they look....they are about a foot wide at the top of the ramp and about 10 inches tall. They are a very easy target to hit. I could easily see someone using these as part of a backyard track...they could easily be pinned to the ground with long nails or spikes.

haha, thats actually pretty funny because just about a a week ago i was babysitting my cousins and they're 9 and 11 and have those fly wheel things, and that ramp! if you use the side thats angled more and not straight up its really god for quick little jumps around the yard. (or over the driveway in my case). if you feel like spending the time to find and order one and get it shipped i think itll be worth it to just mess around on. im lucky and happen to have one about 5 minutes away at their house.

I have six of those since I got them on clearance at ToysRUs for $2 each.

They are decent but they are wide on the bottom and taper towards the top. So they are not really ideal since the top is just wide enough to fit the e-revo and you have to hit the jump dead center.

Also, they are light so they move around a lot unless you anchor them.

One good fix I did was I mounted two of them on a board, and covered the gap with a plastic material. Then it was fun and it was front flip and back flip city.

One thing I learned about ramps is it's good for them to be progressive. Meaning they start out with a gradual slope then it gets steeper. This really gets the car up in the air smoothly.

thats a good idea putting two together, but yeah i had mine up against the curb so it didn't move. good thing my aim is good and didn't miss! now that you say they were $2 i might go get my own instead of stealing my little cousins

I'll get pics tonight so you can see the size in relation to a 1/16...honestly, I didn't have any trouble lining up jumps, and the ramps didn't move much on concrete or grass. I did put 2 ramps side by side for a while so my son could get used to lining up, but didn't need them like that for long.
Man, that was fun!! I'm worried my E-REVO 1/10 and E-MAXX are going to get very very lonely.....

On grass it stays put. And Zrau17, resting them on a curb is not a good idea because eventually, you will miss .

It's not hard lining it up, specially if you're directly behind the ramp and just going straight with Nimh power. But if you're far away, with Lipo, or still learning, it's a narrow ramp.

I'm picking up just the ramp tomorrow at Sports Authority. They sell them for around $29.99. If anyone's interested, it's called the ten-eighty launch ramp.

    Can't wait to try it.

Here's the ramps. It's just barely wide enough.

Two of them together is cool but the gap needs to be covered with some material.

Just picked up the ramp today. Lots of fun! This little thing can really catch some big air. The ramps angle was perfect for some long jumps. Unfortunately, it ended early with a broken front skid plate and a really-out-of- balance front right tire. Oh well.
