Anyone charge lipos on Onyx 230?

I do not know where to post this thread, but since this kinda leans to the slash a bit, mind as well put it here.

I have a few questions on the Onyx charging lipos.

1. What balancer are you using?
2. What lipo battery are you using for the slash?
3. About how long does it take to charge? Amps?
4. How do you charge lipos on the Onyx?
5. And what's the cheapest balancer out there that is still reliable?

Thanks, I absolutely know that lipo is coming to me soon. I just have to get rid of the 7cells i have. Not fun anymore. And obviously, i'm new to lipo, so....take it easy on me. lol

yea, just been using NiMh's on it. Works great, but i'm still trying to wrap my mind around chargig lipos. I want it cheap, yet easy to work w/.

yea, i've heard of the blinky. I'm just wondering if there's anything cheaper. If not, then i'll get the blinky. I already have a lipo in mind. A 2s and a 3s. Was gonna get a ******* 5000 of a 2s or a 3s, most likely the 3s. And i would like a clearer explanation of using lipos.

I use the Accucell-6. I also have the Onyx 230 and a Team checkpoint balancer as a spare. I use ***** 2s4000 hardpacks and the ******* 3s 5000.

I charge Lipo batts on my onyx 230- it works great. I use 5000 mah Venom 2s packs. It take 60-70 mins to fully charge a pack at 5 amps.

For balancing purposes I alternate using my Onyx 230, and my Venom pro charger (it has a built in balancer).

ya but you can also have problems with 3s heating up too much

My set-ups are a bit strange.

1 none , I have the cheap ******* b6+ though
2 I use small 6sx1700 10C batts
3 1 hr at 2 amps
4 set up memory to match battery and push start.
5 probably blinky

2)Pro-Match 2S 5000mah 30c Hard Case; or Fantom Racing 2s 5000mah 40c hard case
2a) Stay away from the ***** 2s hard case, I have three of them if you need any proof.
2b) stay away from the $35 - $37 hong kong 2s lipo hard case, I have proof.
3) Charge at 5 amps for a 5000mah, 4 amps for 4000mah, 3.5 for a 3500mah, etc..

How old were the hardcases? Was it the old solder issue? I have 4 of them and 1 3s 5000 with no problems.
