XL-5 STAMPEDE
ive heard the e-revo handles better and can go on rougher terrain.
rtr slash 4x4
2s lipo
some other rc stuff
so you would go with the e-revo?????
VXL STAMPEDE
XL-5 STAMPEDE
XL-5 STAMPEDE
i bought the revo based simply on the fact i cannot stand the "stock" handling on my Slayer compared to the revo. i totally figured that comparison would relay directly down the the VXL revo/slash.
+1 for the Revo![]()

thanks. what are things you do not like about the revo???

i love the revo, i wish i had bought the 2008 platinum they had in stock instead of my slayer... but hindsight is 20-20 they say. oh well i love the way the slayer handles now anyways.
What im getting at is stock for stock 1/10th scale you're looking at a slayer and a revo, same as the 1/16th scale except the slash is a much better seller so they called it the slash instead of the slayer on the mini side. And yes im generalizing i know the revo and slayer are gas and these are electric but the suspension geometries are the same.![]()

it looks like the chasi on the 1/16 revo and slash are the same. are they?

i really couldn't tell them apart as far as the chassis goes, i think the only difference is the length of the arms, the tires and the size of the body. pretty much the same as comparing the 1/10th scale trucks.
(RAH)² (AH)³ + [ROMA (1+MA)] + (GA)² + (OOH)(LA)²
i think the revo is wider = more stable and bigger tires so better offroad performance.

go with the mini revo i think its better
1/16 revo
slash 4x4
some more but they wont fit
I have both of them, like everbody said the Revo is a better all around truck but the Slash is certainly a capable truck. Its a blast in the dirt it handles dips and bumps and recovers well just can't take a bigger hit like the Revo can. It handles better than the 1/10 Slash due to its 4wd. I'm in to scale looks and racing so I like my Slash a lot. Both are fun

I like my revo a whole lot, but I'm thinking about picking up a mini slash too!
Radicalray: youve been pm
Both are great and its all about personal preference but i think Revo tendes to be the better seller and is also the one i chose.
I have a bunch of RC cars of all styles and sizes and with my experience i realize that its really hard to enjoy something of smaller scale that's over powered. I have an Xmod, HPI micro RS4, and a HPI Sprint 2 that will all hit at least 60-65mph each. The Xmod and RS4 will not stay straight at high speeds and flips over quick so my 10th scale Sprint 2 is my main on road car. the others was just a waste to me. Click here to see how much money you have to waist to get your xmod up to 65mph
Same thing with off road driving. I always end up using the bigger scale over the micros. That's why my main car right now is my 5th scale Baja 5T. I bought that 1/16 revo as a back-up when i break my Baja and was amazed.
The Revo is wider and less likly to flip over. Handles great at high speed
The bigger tires helps it perform better over rough terrain
The wing makes a good wheel bar.
Back flips are awesome
The big tires help control your pitch better when you catch big air.
Revo was my first choice but i still plan on getting a slash too but mainly for running on the track. The Slash looks like it would give me more of the Baja and rally style driving. Nothing like drifting on smooth dirt plus the Slash will look good riding on the back of my Baja 5T =)

I have the slash VXL and it's a lot of fun... it's at home in the dirt and watching the suspension flex while it's got rooster tails coming off each wheel in a turn is just beautiful. it's a bit tippy on pavement, but that's just how it rolls (no pun). I am getting an -e-revo also for better pavement bashing though.. I would like to have the pair to enjoy all they both have to offer. Great offerings from Traxxas me thinks.
edit: out of the box, the suspension on the slash is really squishy... so I had to get stiffer springs right away for my driving style.. I would guess the e-revo is not so bad out of the box.

E REVO all the way

first one for mini e revo review and mini slash review.
iMotion - love the panda passenger.![]()
I guess I am the only fan of the slash, but this is all opinion, And this is mostly a minii revo web site. look at all of the post, erevo out numbers slash post like 20 to 1.........so you will get alot more people saying erevo for sure.
If you are gonna run it mostly on a track the the Slash would be a good choice .
But the E REVO is great on any surface .
I say E REVO for sure !
At WARN 80% and climbing !
i like the look of the slash but there is no tracks around were i live the closest is an hour and 30 minnets away at least! can you put e-revo tires on the slash? i think that will make it handle beter.

That's a biased review. He admittedly dislikes the handling of Slashes...Originally Posted by REVOKID123

it seems more stable in the dirt and when it rolls over it usually ends up back on all 4
Ur wife called. She said buy anything U want!
I got the slash simply for the scale looks, I don't like how the tires are not covered by the body......the center of gravity is really low so it does often flip onto its wheels that part is nice.....
The Slash flips fairly often on asphalt if you are throttle happy or turn to sharp so I can only imagine how much worse the Revo is.
The Slash spins more than it hooks up, but I have an idea I'm going to try tonight wheel/tire wise. If you can get the Slash hook up - like stock tires on my living room carpet - it wheelies with a little reverse to forward action!
The Revo looks cool, but it still looks like an RC. The Slash looks more scale and more real, simply because of the body and because the wheels and tires are not oversized. Both are awesome, though and I think I'll eventually have the Revo too.
