    how lean can the .15 safely run??

    After having numerous problems with getting this pede to work properly.It all came down to the carb settings.After running 6 tanks of fuel thru it.I've found that it performs great with the high speed screw set to just a hair past 2 turns.Any richer and u got to give it 3/4 throttle just to get it to move.Lately the air temp has been between the upper teens and mid 20's.I'm running 10% nitro fuel.With the air temp being cold i don't think there is a danger of over heating the engine.I'm i correct?

    actuly when it is colder out you should run richer (there is a reason for this but i don't feel like explaining it right now). differnt engines will run at differnt settings. if the engine runs fine at the current settings it should be fine. just make sure there is a trail of smoke comming from the pipe under acceleration and at wide open throttle.

    You most likely have your low speed set too rich.
    the high speed needle should be adjusted last, because it is the "master fuel control" because the fuel has to pass passed it before it makes it to the low speed.

    I can some what explain what fanman won't...
    When air is cold, it is more dence meaning there is more in the same amount of space as on a warm day. Whan the dencer air makes it's way into the carb, it get's heated up, and takes up more room, making there less room for fuel, making the engine leaner. (right?)
    I love the smell of nitro fumes in the morning!

    close, the cold air is denser so it will "push" its self into the carb faster. and the fuel can't keep up with it so the engine will get a little leaner. but the air heating up in the engine does have it's effect too.

    well there's three screws: high speed, lowspeed, and idle. the low speed is on the throttle arm and the idle speed is next to the carb intake. the idle should be as high as possible with out the truck moving on pavement and should not go down when u brake. one of my LHCs said that higher nitro content gives better running characteristics and 10% is low and also it's winter so that mite be involved.

    Thanks.My lhs said to use the 10% nitro to breakin the engine since this is what i'm planning on running in the summer.Do u think i should get some 20% nitro for the winter use?The engine is broken now after 10 taks of fuel..
