I have a E-revo Brushless with neu 1515/1y motor and 2x Maxamps 5250 3s packs so i'll be running 6s. What gear ratio is optimal for this setup? Also does anyone make metal spur gears for the e-revo?

Im using these as tires if that matters, but i also might switch back to the Traxxas Championship Respond racing tires

Your best option is to work out what you want your top speed to be (which depends on what kind of terrain, driving, preferences, etc) and then put all the specs into the brushless speed calculator and experiment with gearing combos until you reach your desired speed. Those wheels are enormous so your gearing would need to be fairly conservative and with such high rotating mass you should probably keep it below 40 to be kinder to your motor, esc and drivetrain. I'd love to see a pic of them mounted on your e-revo though.
You can get metal spurs, but most will tell you to stick with nylon. They will do the job fine and act as a weak point in your drivetrain. That's important because they are cheap and easy to replace, but a metal one will transfer what would have been spur killing events (IE landing a huge jump with wide open throttle) deeper into the transmission where things get more expensive and harder to replace.
It's only an opinion, but one shared by many.
BE the Revo
Those wheels use a 24mm hex, and no one makes a 24mm hex to fit the Revo, not to mention how huge those tires are...they are well over 8" in diameter, way too big for a Revo.

I am new to RC's and i went off this thread

No problem...we mentioned in that thread that those were for the Baja 5B and would not work, though.
