so i got a summit about a month ago and absolutely love the truck. my jato was my pride and joy but once i got this truck the jato has not even been touched. kinda wish i had bought this long before my revo and jato to save myself a bunch of money. this is my first non nitro vehicle so im new to the electric game. the major, and i mean MAJOR disappointment if the truck is the run time. i only have a basic onyx 100 charger and after charging the batteries for 3 hours i would get 10-15 minutes of runtime. i used 12v dc to achieve 4 amp charging rate and significantly reduced the charging time but it literally only ran for about 2 minutes when charged at 4 amps.
so i said screw this and ordered the onyx 245 charger, (2) 5600mah 2s 60c lipo batteries, and the mamba monster speed control and mamba 2200 kv motor. i still want to crawl with it so when i want to crawl obviously i will have to run it low speed being that its a non sensored motor. but i also want to do some high speed baja style running.
heres my questions - does the motor need to be broken in? what do you think of the mamba monster system? what problems have you had with it? where are weak points on the vehicle that will have to be adressed? what kind of run times can i expect on a full charge? and if i turned the power all the way up on it, what kind of speeds would i see?
question about charging - the charger does 2 batteries at once, what rate should i charge the batteries at?
any advice is appreciated, thanks
