    Sidewinder???

    Ok this is my plan. Get the sidewinder speed control and then get 3s lipos.... Then if i have the money the i will get the big block . sound good? any tips?
    Im stupid :D teach me :)

    how about you skip the lipo and get the big block

    Stock motor with 3s lipo WILL out perform any Big block on stock batterys
    T-Maxx - 3.3 :)

    Agreed, but wouldnt that just burn out my speed control?

    and yes you would still need a new ESC for the Big block.



    My merv mods went like this:

    stock + 3s lipo = smoked ESC

    3s lipo + Sidewinder = but I wanted more

    Sidewinder + 5700Kv Big block = Wish I had gotten the Mamba Max Pro (but CRAZY FAST)

    Would be no difference between the Sidewinder and the MMP if you run the same motor

    Best upgrade path if you dont have the money would be

    Lipos and charger
    ESC
    Motor

    I just went threw this exact thing... I had a 3s lipo and stock esc. It fried then traxxas sent me a new one and it fried... Hmmm so i said enough i bought a sidewinder and kept the stock can... I have been running 2s / 3s all day no problem at all, just keep an eye on motor temp and gearing! Also i have a thread on here thats got pics of it installed...


    18/50 gearing for now
