    Anybody race there EREVO?

I race at a small dirt oval and yesterday got to see what my EREVO will really do.
We have a 4X4 open nitro class and thats the only class I can run in.
No electric class for us EREVO,EMAX,etc drivers.
Anyway, I thought I would get my butt handed to me by the nitro guys being I'm the only one running electric but it was the complete oppisite.
The top dog at the track runs a 3.3 REVO and I ran dead even with him.
Two regular heats and a main.
Heat 1 Got 3rd, would of done better but nerves got the best of me so driver error hurt me there.
Heat 2 I led part of the race but went high on a bank and got into some loose stuff and spun out then couldnt catch up in time for a win,got 2nd
Main, Final heat/race. Led the whole race and with less than a minute to go I got taken out by another driver as I tried to lap him.Recovered and got 2nd.

Had a great time being the underdog with electric running against the unlimited nitro guys.
If you havent ever raced your EREVO, give it a try, you'll be glad you did.

I casually race mine against my buddies who have fully modded/raced out REVO's one has a Picco .26 the other has an O.S. .21 , both are really fast but my E REVO on 4s is a lot faster !
At WARN 80% and climbing !

We have a local track we just built this year and I'm in a similar situation. I've run both an E-Maxx and an E-Revo at the track (both stock with 6 and 7 cell NIMH) and have been able to turn respectable lap times with both. I think one advantage I have is our track has a number of 180 turns and only one long straight. My trucks accelerate as well or better than the nitro trucks and buggies so I can hold my own on most of the track. Tires are a factor too. The Maxx tires and Revo Talons definitely don't hook up as well as the pin tires run by most of the others.

I've been gearing mine up to start racing, but haven't gotten to race yet. I have practiced at the track quite a bit, though, and have had NO problem running with anything else that's out there. Our track is fairly small and technical, so acceleration and handling are key...something the Nitros definitely don't have an advantage with. There's a guy with the brushless e-revo...he runs with the 1/8 truggies and smokes everyone.

To be honest both the E-Maxx and E-Revo have "turned heads" at our track where most of the 1/8 stuff is nitro and then the smaller scales are a mix of electric and nitro. Again both are stock running 6 or 7 cell NIMH. Brushless and/or LiPo would make quite a difference I'm sure.

I agree on the tires. I slid all over the place with the factory talons.
Barrowing a set of wheels with proline bowties from my buddies T-Max made all the difference. That and a Tecno swaybar kit helped a bunch.
Other than the sway bar,it's box stock. I run 2 ***** 2C 5000 mah lipos, short travel rockers and white springs in front with green in rear.

Here's my race setup so far...
    - Proline Crimefighter tires (with 1/2 inch offset)
    - Short rockers, Silver and Orange springs
    - 60wt shock oil all the way around with the #2 pistons
    - 2 SPC LiPo packs (4 ***** 2c 5000's on the way)
    - Stock Titan motors
    - Replaced the steering stop with the "long-travel" version - and did the dremel mod to make the steering travel even further (best thing I've done so far!)

I'm waiting for them to go up in smoke (and saving my $ in the meantime). I'll go brushless after that. But, I'm actually pretty happy with the Titans. They provide plenty of punch and speed for the track where I normally race. And I stay in control of my truck!

It's a Slayden mod where you dremel a little bit off of th bellcrank and lower hinge-pin holders to get the absolute MAXIMUM steering throw possible.

You can read the Steve Slayden steering mod (and other mods) page [here].

Just curious, does anyone know what you need to do to an ER to run with the 1/8 truggies?

Legally. Is there a certain set of standards that you have to follow to be in the class?

Yeah, Driving skillz. Nothing is needed, but some things will help.
