The JL has a modified crank that alows it to spin more RPMS. But dont get this mill confused with the .26 JL Red Dot. This is going to be INSAINE

it didnt cost 500... nitrohouse is the only place that has them at all, and they are only 240 there...tower has them on there site but it says "oorder pending" but they cost like 350 there

by fortified, do you mean beefed it up for this motor? if so, then not yet....i am doing the tranny pin mod to it, then i have the set of rrp gears in my shopping cart on tower, ready to be bought if i have any problems.... i still have a full set of stock gears just incase... then im running cvd's all around and center. thats all i got so far..

ok well i got it together with what i got for right now...i just put a traxxas 17t CB for right now just because thats all i got on hand..and i also threw the BB traxxas flywheel on there
im waiting on my qoncepts flywheel and hpi CB and clutch shoes to come. also still waiting on my pipe to get here..

i had to grind down a little on the motor mount like shelby did his, i like the idea he did to make the mill rest on the chassis, this was there is no movement at all.(besided the chassis flex)
well here is what i got, let me know what you think

the mesh isnt good yet, this was just the mach up with the 17t but im putting on an 18t....let me know what you think so far

also if you guyes are wondering why i have a header and no pipe, its because i bought them separate....i found a really good deal on a dynamite 086 pipe just by itself brand new for only 30 shipped. and then i bought this new header(losi) for only 10 shipped.. not a bad price if you ask me..

im also running 2 losi header springs there, they are shorter then the traxxas and keep this thing very tight.

the traxxas mount is a very nice peice IMO its nic and bulky, not the cheep cast aluminum. its not the pipe and flywheel i have to wait on. i still dont have a bump box...jusleanit is selling me one but i wont be able to take it off his hands untill next week so it is going to be about a week and a half till i get anythig for you guyes...im also thinking that this 18/36 isnt going to be enough. i want all the top end i can get and i think its going to top out too fast

19T 36T will be well enought, i got 57 mph with 19T 36T and tmaxx chevrons tires with a Stage 2 Picco .28, unless you want more than that..... hehe

If you didnt already did it, i highly suggest you to run the traxxas clutch inverted (leading edge) otherwise it will slip with that engine.

looks good so far . for more clearance u can grind the fins down on the crank case and a lil more off the moiunt if u can AND shim the tranny. but remember the specs u posted, this mill only claims 37k(stock) right

i enjoy it when you comment just because you keep track of all your passes...what gearing did you use with the 66mph? also with that stage 2 .28, what kind of rpms where you looking at with that thing.?

I just thought of another thing that you may want to try, the slayer forward only conversion kit. That will make the gear ratio for more top end. IIRC that is what Over_revO did on his truck with that 66MPH run.

Exactly, i fitted the slayer internal ratio in the revo transmission, but i had to grind the transmission, best thing is to get the slayer transmission...

I also ran 22T 34T on top of that, the TZ had enought pulling 15T 38T+slayer gearing to give an idea... lol

Too bad it had transmission problem (caused by the slayer gear using a small shaft pin) im sure i could have made it to 70 by now.

The Picco .28 FFt stage 2 is probably just a tad quicker than your, depending what they did on the timing. My guess is it is similar.

With the drag mod theres a bigger difference, by looking at this graph you will see that the difference is not total rpm the engine can spin, but the power it can make at a given rpm.

In this graph its an ABmods Drag modified OS28XZ vs stock
    http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...modVsstock.jpg

you can see both can spin as fast on the graph, but lets say your revo with stock engine get 50mph as a maximum speed at 33000 rpm ,

with the mod, the only difference is the engine still produce 2hp at 33000rpm, so speed will increase....

The peak power was increased by about only 500 rpm, you dont want it to be too far for offroad, thats what make that modder good, you keep the torque and have even smoother powercurve, and gain a LOT of top end power.

That was just to say the engine dont really gain rpm, but top end power... hehe

Cant wait to see what ABmods will be able to do with a JLR Picco .28!

Get us a vid if you can

wow thats some confusing stuff there over_revo, but i see what your saying.. i talked to colt4g63 about it already and if the budget will let me then i will be sending it to him after the breakin..i would love to be the first guy to send him one of these....

so after looking at your graph, correct me if im wrong but 37000rpm really dont mean that much, seeing is how the peak of its power is not near the 37000 range..

hey lets say i do send him this motor, should i send him everything i have for it as well?

i will look into the slayer tranny and see what i find... will i be able to do the simple pin mod to that tranny, and will it help me at all?

    reddotrevo- this aint no mazda

mac8175- they just came out with them, and im almost sure im the only one here to own one yet...

ok i found one on ebay im going to pick up and im also looking at some IMEX foam wheels.
if im not wrong its the bigger the wheel the faster the truck, right? so would i be better off leaving my platinum wheels/tires on and letting them balloon up?
i dont think i can keep them glued to the rim this way...

also, would you guyes think it would be better to shave some weight off this thing? you know, get rid of the junk i dont need to run for topspeed?

The less ballonning it will have, the faster it will go, just regear accordingly.
It will go faster with the IMEX foam. But not if you keep 19T 36T...

For the engine, you just need to send the engine to Adam and he will take care of it, just let him know what you are looking for and im sure it will be awesome

For the 37000rpm, yes its not usefull to go in that range with that engine for example, unless you are out of gearing then yes theres a difference, there will always be a difference if you know how to use the powerband....

In my friend's Ofna DM1 1/7 on stock gearing it did 63 mph stock, with just the mod it did 71mph run after run ,. no gear change. (thats the engine used for that dyno graph, i did the real condition testing for the mod)

For the setup i had at 66, i did not removed anything to shave weight, one thing i can say is you need a rear wing!, otherwise the rear will want to cross the line first lol

    Good luck
