    Maybe getting a summit!

Hey guys, I want a new truck. I was thinking about a new change for a truck. I have always been after speed and racing trucks like the rustler vxl and T-Maxx's. It never has dawned on me to get a nice summit for long run times. What do summits run, and are they worth it?

Depends on what you run the Summit with. 3000 NiMH maybe 10 min. 6500 mah lipo's alittle over 30 min. 8000 mah lipo's alittle over 40 min. These are average times. The harder you push it the lower the times. Same as with nitro, run it hard less time per tank. I've been leaning towards getting one of these myself. Ad a lipo cut-off an I would be real happy with this truck. A set of 8000 lipo's and it would be real fun in the winter or hiking during the other 3 seasons.

I get an easy 20 to 25 minutes running hard in high gear with 5000 mAh lipos and 30 to 35 if I am just walking a trail and keeping the Summit in low gear up front snake hunting! $500 +/- for RTR truck with Tx .... plus $90 each for lipos roughly. You could get 5000 mAh 7 cell Nimhs for around $60 each. I just use LVAs plugged into the balance taps for lipos. Novak sells a 4S lipo esc smart shut off module for around $30 you can hardwire in after the warranty has expired. Easy upgrade to brushless if you want it.

The summit is worth it, love being able to lock the diffs on command and crawl over somthing. For starters get some top nimh like promatch, and a onxy 240 about $200 plus the summit $450, and 8 orion 2700nimh rechargable AA nimh cells/ an adapter to charge them from the onxy 240. When you want more speed and runtime, get the mmm 2200kv combo $300 and some 5s1P 3000mah lipos wire in parrallel *****s $90
