Just checked release date

Hey everyone.

I spoke with a Traxxas representative this morning and he said that the released date has not been changed. It is still looking like this Saturday is going to be the date. When we actually receive the trucks is going to be a different story.

I ordered mine 4/23 from Towerhobbies. I am hoping that I will get it in the first or second week of June.

release date and order fulfillment are going to be 2 different things.

Just like the Wii when it launched, sure it was release date, but unless you had a preorder or lined up at 2am, you didn't get one until months and months later, if not years, infact it's still near impossible to find in the months leading up to Christmas.... at least most of us are "in line" with a preorder for this truck.

yea if i dont get mine on the first shippment im going to withdraw my preorder and just wait till they are in stores all the time

I wouldn't be surprised if they made more trucks than the amount that were pre-ordered.. I bet they delayed the release date so that they could produce more.

I stopped by HobbyTown today to pick up some nitro and asked if they knew when they were going to get the 1/16th Revo and Slash. He said he didn't know exactly when but they got some on pre-order for the store, I asked if anyone's pre-ordered one he said no. I'll wait till they're at the store, I would imagine the release date will probably be the same as everywhere else.

That's good news. I'm hoping I ordered early enough so that I may be one of those who receives a model from the first batch at Tower.

I was told the same thing at my Hobbytown yesterday... They have no idea when they will get them..
When they show up, that's when they will have them!

I got some bad news from my local hobby shop...he ordered four of the revos before they had a part number, a few weeks later a traxxas rep called him and told him he had to redo his order with the traxxas part number so he asked her would it put him on the second batch....she replied that she was going to try to put him in the system with the first order. So once he checked his system it said he should get them by 6-15-09. Hopefully this is not the release date at least for the rest of you guys maybe it will only affect my hobby shop!

purely speculation

but on another note, i spoke with my LHS and he says "they're in the mail", i asked him if he's actually got shipping confirmation and he said, his broker is dealing with that but "they're in the mail"... so take it for what you will, i dont have a lot of confidence in that answer.

Yeah I'm still waiting. The traxxas magazine we have at the store says April 2009. haha. I think it will we worth it, can't wait to get an e-revo.

My LHS (HobbyTown USA) said the release date was pushed back too 6-10-09 , I have one on hold when they come , but I am not gonna get my hopes up like I did with the Mamba Monster combo , that was pushed back like 6 or 7 times before it finally hit the stores .

But I will have one when they get here , I believe its gonna take the mini scene too a whole new level .

I know, I just called traxxas, this guy told me about another 10-14 days before the trucks are shipped from the distributors.
Well, I never really cared about having the truck, I just wanted it as a present for someone....
kind of sucks to disappoint people, huh?
It was really no big deal in the beginning, but now this is just annoying.
I dont care what the excuses are from traxxas....it doesnt really matter.
If you cant really estimate the release, then dont even put one out and change it 4 times(or more) before its released.
I just took an anatomy and physiology final exam, so maybe im a bit grumpy....

Slightly annoying now that its released later? Yeah....

OH WELL, I guess! Nothing we can do about it....I kind of wanted a truck for my birthday in july....which im sure it will be out by then...

So that'd put it around the 22nd. Exactly what Amainhobbies has as their expected arrival date.

Aren't you the guy who called Traxxas and quoted June 3 as the release date? Who did you talk to this time?

I called Traxxas last week and the customer service rep said that they had shipped. I am pretty ticked off that word is they haven't shipped. Why doesn't an official Traxxas rep show up here and give a real answer and ship date. Let's stop speculating and find out the truth.

It used to be early june then changed to mid june, now it says backorder cancelled.

Mine says order pending. Now the 2nd battery I have on order still says mid June

this has been discussed before. the explanation was that if you choose a specific color/freq it says "pending" while the generic part # says the expected date.

I think it would be better for Traxxas to post no release dates at all, until the actual product is ready to ship to distributors and dealers. At least that way the release date won't be off so much. That way people won't get so upset about delays.
