Tire & rim options with pictures

one question on that hpi blast+phaltliner setup. Is that the preglued tire+rim setup? How does it hold under brushless power? I heard that tire will fall apart from the rim just after couple of runs if I use the preglued one...

Hey.
Yes, it's the preglued one.
After the first run it did indeed come loose at some parts.
However, I noticed that the bead is not painted with chrome. It just came loose because of an improper glue job.
So I reglued all the parts that came loose with Pro-Line CA medium.
It hasn't come loose any more.

I bought it like this because the combo was cheaper. It should be fairly easy to cook or bake the tires of, tape them and reglue.

I have been wondering if this combo will work, based upon people stretching PL Badlands on Rulux HalfUps:

PL 3.2 Mashers
Rulux HalfUps

I would think the Mashers are less flexible than the Badlands and it would be a bear to stretch them onto the wheels.

I was really unsure of what I wanted for my son's ERBE and I found this thread. I do think that it would be nice if it was stickied and more people would contribute to it. It helped me to finally make up my mind for sure, I went with this combo. And I got a set for myself too

here's one contribution. Panther Pythons medium soft mounted on Traxxas dish wheels with Racers Edge two stage inserts. These give really good traction on many race tracks, you can bash with them but their compound wears out very fast on asphalt or concrete or gravel. They are made for dirt or grass.

Yes I drive it (when slipper clutch and spur aren't melted), but I have yet to drive off-road in the dirt. My son and I are having too much fun doing WOT runs for 300'-350'.

I also clean off what little dust/dirt accumulates once we get home.

How much wider a wheelbase do you get using MT size "stablemaxx" offset wheels vs 1/2" offset MT wheels?
I currently have the jconcepts halfups with 1/2" offset and the overall wheelbase width ends up about the same as the stock talons, I would like a bit wider wheelbase if possible.

The 'stablemaxx' wheels description on RPM's wbsite states they add 1.2" track width to your vechicle.

That is 0.1" per side in extra track width over 1/2" offset wheels.

ok, so basically they should give about 2/10ths of an inch wider wheel base overall...that's hardly noticeable

No it's the same width with either tire, 17 inches, maybe a 1/4 inch difference if that, and the package the rulux wheels came in said they were 1/2 inch offset so unless they had the wrong wheels in the package? but if you look at how deep in the center of the wheel the mounting point is in the picture it looks to me like the 1/2" offset wheels?

here you can see both wheels mounted on one side and it's plain to see the stock wheels edge is on the same plane as the jconcepts wheels.

interesting but I'de prefer to pick up the extra width with the wheels. I have some ofna 1/2" extended 17mm adapters that I have used but unfortunately they don't fit my 8mm axle snugly enough, lot of slop.

the Traxxas Dish Rims (17mm) have a 1" offset...maybe those? I run them on my E-Revo...giving you a 17 1/2" track...(just measured it.)

I like how wide they are If I did get them, do you think it would make it turn worse or the same? Are there any other tires that are wide and a little larger then stock ones?

Pro-Line 40 series Mashers.

I'm still waiting on my backordered Axial 8 Spokes to ship so I can get them mounted and bash with them. Until then I can only sit and look at the tires themselves.

The HPI Goliaths that I received this week are freakin HUGE. I'm mounting them up and going to post some pics this weekend..

I got my 40 series Mashers yesterday with the Axial eight spoke chrome wheels. Those are ginormous. RedRaider, are those Goliath bigger than the Mashers? I am still mounting the 8 Mashers and wheels I got, I had to stop because I ran out of CA At 420 grams per wheel/tire, they are the heaviest things I will have ever run on my ERBE. I can't wait to see pics of those Goliaths, I almost bought those instead of the Mashers.

I have some big joes that I ran with my brushed e-revo and they were ok but I haven't tried them with the brushless.

I use the stock Traxxas 17 mm hexes and they work great. I also use a little blue locktite.

Stock hexes on the ERBE are 17mm. Some people run 14mm and others run 23mm but most run 17mm.
