Be sure and keep an eye on this tread, i got some stuff planed that i haven't seen done yet. Its going to be pretty sick!

That is so cool - I see the first mod of my Summit in my mind now - I would like to see vids of it bashing around the yard and on some rocks to see how it works.

Video another clip, glad you like it, i put a lot of mechanical brainpower into this one, i looked at a maxx steering setup and realized i could make that work in vertical on the summit, then it was tough figuring it out from there.

That is too cool!! Nice job. That kind of set-up takes allot of time to fabricate, and get it to work right. Shows your mechanical know-how.

    Again, nice job!!!

Question - I am sure you already explained this I just may have missed it - did you just Y-harness the steering setup? When you turn left in the front is turns right in the rear? Or is the rear servo on its own?

could you post parts and instructions so we may all follow in your genius? I would love 4 wheel steering, especially when locked.

ok so all that was on the stock radio, i y-harnessed the front servos together and pluged them into channel 1, and pluged my rear steering servo into the other channel one slot. luckly it didn't crabwalk when i turned the wheel.

Yeah i can, a guide is a few days out yet.

    aye six servos.
i seem to have run into trouble hooking up my new air radio, i can't figure out one of the channels, and looks like the tlock doesn't like a 2 postion switch, so i need another Y harness, easy enough, just stumped on the last switch, ill have to read the manual dx6i.

    update

servo savers way to soft my rear wheels have a mind of there own.
anyone know of a super stiff servo saver that hooks up to the servo itself?
broke a cv joint again dang thats a weak point.
was limping around on three wheel drive all weekend, did some cool rock crawling though, got a few vids around the corner.

well im hoping the critical parts that keep breaking on the stock cvd's won't break on the mip one's, but the mip don't look any tougher, hope its better steel.
notice the second pic, i plan on waterproofing all around the mmm board except the top of the heatsink.
a close look at the mmm and i see the bullet's touch the heatsink, can it short through the heatsink?

well i was kindof using this tread as my 4ws tread, Well, i have been runing 4ws for a while now, and I miss the pistol grip radio, with the newfound glitch bypass methods of this forumn one might want to use the stock radio for 4ws. So, an idea id like to try is move the difflock servos to the shift servo spot as well (2 Y-harness's). So the diffs lock in low gear and unlock in high gear. So that free's up the 3position switch, remove the t-lock controler and y-harness the lights to somthing. Plug the rear steering servo into the 3position switches channel, When the switch is centered wheels are straight, switch right: wheels left, switch left: wheels right. I want to go to the setup i just described, as the air radio just seems a bit much ($200) and i don't really like the controls, because im so used to pistol grip. So i plan to go brushless, well seems like we can now with stock radio, so should be ok. So that mod helps keep the cost of 4ws low, so mainly the steering servo $120 and mis. parts $30, probably $150 for rear wheel steering, assuming you have the tools.

the stock tx on 4ws might be tough, as youd need to buy the servo programer to set the end points (if it can even do that im not sure)

i am running 3summit axels and 1mip axle now, 2 pins fell out, and one bent, the last is holding out. im favoring the summit axels now, and just suggest loosen the slipper till you stop breaking axles.

i have come close to finishing my 4ws build, but it bent under a 10 foot landing, so im trying thicker alum, and hopfully a racers edge hitec pro servo horn (if they ever come into stock). i couldn't put in a servo saver as i cant find a servo saver tough enough to hold the rear wheels steady.

i dont know if thicker alum will solve the problem, it might not bend, but then somthing else might break, or bend, anyone got an eta on that servo horn?

im trying to finish my truck in a week or two, will do a thread for my truck soon after.

I was disappointed that the MIPS broke that was among my next few upgrades, love the rear wheel steer.

    nice find noir522.
good luck with your rear steer, a hard part for me was making it work without bump steer. I love what rear steer adds to this truck, you'll enjoy it.

Just necromancing some good old Summit build threads to inspire these summit newbies with better ideas than simply bigger tires.

I seen a video of a 4ws Summit and plan on making one. I like ur approach the best noir 522. it is what i have for parts, plus i like to keep it fairly simple.
