Here it is all done in its dirt shoes. 2.2 truck Dirt Hawgs in the rear and 2.2 buggy Dirt Hawgs in the front on Traxxas staggered offset wheels.

Well I finally finished my Baja MT. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. This is the first time I've painted a body in at least 15 years. It is a Candy Red backed by racing silver with metallic black on the fenders/running boards. I used liquid mask for the first time and am pretty pleased with the results. My only real issue with it is that i didn't go heavy enough with the candy red on the sides and those areas came out a little more pink than i wanted. Oh well. I'll mainly be bashing and now I have more confidence for painting the 1/8 buggy that i'll be racing.

Yeah I have pink body clips. Got a problem with that?

In my opinion, making a beastly truck into an ugly vowlksewagon beetle is super ugly.

The VW bug is clearly a far more aesthetic design due to the flowing lines and sexy curves. Trucks tend to look more like square-box-designs. Kind of like the old square-looking Volvo cars and wagons -- they were practical, but they looked like s**t.

NICE lookin bugs guys. Its not my body of choice but I truly appreciate how good you guys make these things look. And, after you do all your trickness to them... I find myself really liking the end result.
Very sweet.

BTW adp667, those torque rims look MEAN in black. I wish they made them that way. did you just paint them? Or did you strip the chrome and dye them?

Actually I would never have picked a bug body until I saw the bugs on this thread, but having seen all the great work I did buy & paint one and now it is one of my favourite bodies...

I stripped them with Easy-Off and dyed them. They look much better in black.

This is my 1st paint job. I wish I would have left the windows alone

live and learn. Still Debating on putting more stickers on it.
Forgive my crappy camera.

By the way. I used a whole can of paint and 1/4 of another, Then a whole can of backing, I am already getting a couple scratches and I havent even run the body yet.
Just from handling it from cutting and what not. I used the right paint. pectra. Kinda bummed im already getting blemishes.

I've never liked Bugs much, but I have to say the Baja bodies look good on the Slash. Maybe I can get my wife to drive if I paint one up all girly...

Probably not, but thats what we have kids for right? To push our hobbies onto them... Its working for me so far, though maintaining vehicles for three is a lot of work, add the wife and I might not have time for anything else...

Thanks a lot ksb51rl, your link has helped me to understand I did things almost correct at my last trial, but seems Flikr has updated my page only few hours ago 'cause I wasn't able to see the pics loaded on my page (just registered yesterday only to this forum purpose) up to few minutes ago.
Tonight I'll try to post the 6 pics again. Learned another lesson today!

What was misunderstood about my post above? I reiterate and elucidate further:
Please keep all images to a width of 640 pixels or less. To do this, you must edit the image using an image editor before you upload the picture to your host or edit the photo in your host.
I have changed the image(s) to link(s) and/or clickable thumbnail(s) so that people don't have to scroll to read the thread. You can also upload clickable thumbnails that can be selected to view the photo at the original resolution.

Sorry Defeatest, have really no idea about name/brand: I got them in HongKong at one of the many RC shops in MongKok and they were in a transparent blister with no any printing. I'll ask the owner about next time I head to HK.
BTW the cost is 100HK$ a pair.
Tried them 1st time yesterday: not good for pavements, but so far OK on dirt. Will check them better coming days.

Could one of fine gentlemen post me a couple of closeup pics of the wing and how its mounted? I'm a little confused looking at it and what needs to be cut out. Also are the shapes that were in the wheel wells supposed to be cut out and used for mounting the wing? thanks!

the body should have come with some small screws and spacers that you mount it with. i dont think there is anything you need in the wheel well
