I was able to finish mine this past weekend. While not an original idea, there are more than a few on this post, it was what I wanted to do from the time the body came out. I decided to omit the ragtop opting for a hardtop race version. Details on the truck, er, car: VXL setup, RPM bumper, shock towers, rear motor guards and mount, skids, Traxxas dish lite wheels (fronts all around), Pro-Line Gladiators in rear and Pro-Line Edge tires in front. RPM arms to come as needed and big bore shocks are on the short list. We are considering a bug topped SC class at the track which would be pretty cool. I have another bug in the works that will be painted more like the retro sand scorcher versions pictured in this thread.

nitromud: Klick "go advanced". Now klick the little icon with a mountain and sun on it, "insert image", just below the font and size droplists. Copy/paste link to the image and woila!

Thank you, the frogs are inside the rest are exterior except the hood, it is paint. The letters on the side were going to be painted (like the hood) but i started painting and forgot to mask them off before hand. The frogs are ink-jet on photo paper and xxx-main lexan glued. First time i've used the glue and it works great.

They are Pro-line Torque Wheels, all rears. The tires had awesome traction on my 4x2 Slash so I'm sure it will be even better on the 4x4. The wheels and tires aren't heavy at all, maybe a little more than stock.

I noticed a few of you guys are running without the front bumper.... I like how it looks.

Anybody ever have any problems like extra damage from running without it?

I was thinking about buying the smaller front skidplate (#2735) for the Bandit/Rusty instead.

That is one amazing picture.

It would have made it even better to make little foam shoes or something, and make a few tracks of footprints lerading towards the door/window or however you would exit the vehicle...

Herbie just got a set of Badlands bolted on. We went from dune buggy to monster bug. Badlands work uber well at the track.
