    Question suggestions on upgrading?

Ok so i finally got my slayer broke in and after some pavment bashing i decided to take it to the local track. After throwing it around a bit i noticed that it kept wanting to go right, a friend of mine told me to bring it in and look at it. I was supprised to see that i had broken the front skid plate and one A arm pin was gone and the other was well on its way to an escape.

What im trying to ask is that, is it really necessary to buy some aluminum skid plates? im thinking about it but im not sure whether its worth the extra $.

Any help would be more than welcome.

lucky for me I haven't lost anything but my plastic skid plates on the front went paper thin within a few runs, so I stuck Integy set on but then as the alloy doesn't flex at all the impact was going to the pair of screws holding the front plate on. As it would happen, it broke the whole front diff box off now I use the ST racing front skid plate as it is a one piece design. It spreads the impact over the 5 screws.

The aluminum will transfer the impact more than absorbing it. I myself prefer the plastic. I've never had a problem with the front skid yet. Though the rear has a bit of wear on it. I ordered a set of THESE for the rear just for a little more wear..
