    Steve Slayden

I met him at the Wiregrass Indoor Nationals, in Dothan Alabama this past weekend. Really one of the nicest Pro Guys I have met, he's up there with Lutz in my book. He placed 3rd in Slash, after getting knocked around by a few guys, and took the win in Monster Truck.

Really nice guy, and a good racer...

Their personalities is what also made them get to the top to where they are now. As much of racers that they are, they are a huge promotional tool. No company wants to hire someone who wont represent their products and company. I had the pleasure of meeting Adam Drake. He is completely in the zone when it comes to racing...all his attention is focused on that, especially when I was introduced to him while he was getting ready to start up, but after the race he sat down relaxed and introduced himself again. The pros are top guys
I'm so far behind, it looks like I'm winning.

When you are racing as the day changes so does the track conditions, often requiring you to change your setup and adjust your tune. If anything has broken you got to have it repaired before the next heat comes around.... You'll be surprised at how little time they have if a diff needs attention or something like that....

These guys do this for a living so I have always waited till they are done or if they seem to be relaxed at their pit area, but if the wrenches are going just let them get their job done.

The track I race at we host state races about 2 times a year. Average of 200 entries for the day... When qualifying stops and the Mains start everyone is getting pretty serious.

Steve Slayden also writes some excellent articles on Traxxas products and events. One of his many hats he seems to wear for Traxxas. They are very informative, well written. http://www.traxxas.com/support/kb_se...cat=142&id=478
