E-Slayer… I mean E-Revo (close enough)

I get no love in the nitro forums with a Slayer that’s electric. Since it’s a close relative to a converted Revo, figured I’d post up here.

Wow. What are you running in there? Thats an incredibly fast truck...
I personally think they look horrid... but by far the best beater out there... and hoora for an entry level truck to learn brushless on!

The video was actually meant to show the terrible suspension and handling performance of the Slayer, at least in stock fashion. Out of all my models over the many years this little truck handles the absolute worst. Then again, I only have 2 others as quick as this Slayer…

That's cool. I wish the Slash was a 4 wheel drive. The Slayer definitely has one up on the Slash. Nice convert!

Does it traction roll as much in the dirt ? Have you tried backing off the preload in the shocks too see if it helps ? Some sway bars might also help .

really nice truck. a guy out our local track has one. and i agree with xcntrk... while the truck goes through the turns a lot better than a slash becasue of the 4wd, the suspension is way to tight in comparison to the slash.

I have a few things coming in way of suspension. Some softer springs for the front, heavier for the rear, a sway-bar kit, may need to try different shock oil, and I have a set of buggy rims and tires that will be on 17mm adapters. If that doesn’t add some stability, I’ll have to get more drastic and lower it (shorten the push-rods) or run extended wheel adapters. If I’m still not happy after that; it will become a revo

As for the motor, that was supposed to be temporary. I honestly figured a 1512 can wouldn’t provide enough torque and planned on buying a nice 1515 (1Y maybe) for it. But as you can see, 1512 is plenty torque and I’m at 40% punch control still.
