1/16th vs. 1/10th

what are the pros and cons with the different sizes?
I have a regular version but am considering the smaller type. Im just wondering if it will still hold up to bashing/racing as well as the bigger version? seems like iot would flip over easier being smaller but with brushless power..

im sure it will. because it may be smaller but its also lighter.

Smaller is for smaller places like a house, and bigger is so you can see them way down there, imo.

The biggest thing is the smaller one is 4wd whereas the 1/10 is only rwd.

He was talking about the Slash, and they don't make a 1/10th 4wd version of the Slash, that's the Slayer.

You'll break a 1/10 truck easier than the 1/16....ever see a squirrel fall 40 feet out of a tree, then get up and run off like nothing happened? Imagine what would happen if you fell forty feet out of a tree, you'de be lucky to survive at all, much less run off without so much as a scrape.

But they need tomake a 1/10 4x4 Slash. With a waterproof VXL of course. If that happens I will skip getting an SC10.

Run time is greater as well. You guys will be surpirsed at that and the speed. The RC18's out of the box ran around 18-20 mph and it seems alot faster due to their smaller size.

Ya, I agree. I don't know how I am going to be able to control the 30+mph out of the box, not to mention the possible 50+mph. Insane! Especially for offroad.

I was going to ask the same question. I have several 1/36 Losi Micro that run very well inside. Losi also makes the 1/18 Mini T, which would seem to be okay inside, but really pushing it unless you have a large basement. A 1/16 would seem to big to run inside but not big enough to run on grass or dirt with large ruts or bumps as well as a 1/10.

The 1/16th Slash does flip easier that is big 2wd brother but it is adictive and I love running this little truck everywhere I can!

How does it handle/perform off-road? Can you take it to the same spots, over the same terrain, as with your 1/10 slash?

No.
It needs 1/16 scale rocks, dirt, and hills.

Had it in the dirt today and it did very well better than I thought it would.
This truck is adictive!
only flips were when I hit the jumps sidways..

Filmmaker Traxxas will give the code to anyone that emails asking for it. Actually I didn't even ask for it, I emailed asking if they were going to sell the brushed version to the general public and they sent me the Amsoil promo code.

I doubt it's a magic word that turns the VXL to the XL.

Stores carry them but cannot sell unless you whisper the secret word? Seems kinda weird if you ask me.

Huh? You don't buy it from a store, you order it direct from Traxxas. Here is the link.

I've never seen Traxxas sell whole vehicles. I've read repeated comments though of them selling to distributors only.

I like how easy 1/10 is to work on, goes in grass, easy to carry, easy to see at a distance.
