Oh, well dang...I thought 40-series wheels were 4" in diameter. I guess they are 4" from lip to lip, not bead to bead. I guess I could run those 3.8" Panther paddles on Traxxas 3.8 Response wheels.

    yep

    http://www.losi.com/Search/Default.a...hTerm=420_Dish

You can use the lst / 20mm adaptors on the revo...but you will need different wheel pins(not with threads that the revo uses, smooth pins).

    Here's the Pro-Lone 40 series paddle:

Sadly, the paddles aren't as deep as on the maxx size. I like the looks of those sand wedge tires that truckerdan linked.

I also love the zombi max tires on my aluminum rims with the green proline formed foam inserts.I used the "rubberized" IC-2000 tire glue and sealed the air hole in the rims.I have ran more than 50 6s packs on them and they are wearing GREAT !!

You guys having fun jackin my thread all up!?!

LOL, I'm kidding. I like those Alum. wheels, I bet they are nice and strong, right? Probably a tad heavy, but sometimes that's a good trade to make.

I think I'm going to have to get a set of those Pro-Line "Weld" wheels (on the left in 1TD's last pic) just for my '72 Chevy body. I think they'll look killer.

The Pro-line weld beadlocks actually are a tad heavier than the aluminium rims.....go figure.

Quick question guys... The caster clips, they come 2 in front, 2 in back. Is there a better way to reinstall them for better handling?

I know there is the Slayden setup (5 in front, right?), but I don't plan to do any hardcore racing, I'd just like something well-balanced for bashing and such.

    Pics to come soon!

You can move clips to the front to increase oversteer or move them to the back to increase understeer. I messed with them a little and it seems to have a pretty slight effect.

I run them all in the front for as much caster as you can get without the mods. SInce you just bash, I suggest this setup as well.

    Awesome. Thanks!

So, finally got some pics uploaded.

I'm probably 70% done with the reassembly. I'm going to order the red sway bars and pushrods tomorrow.

Anyway, on to the pics. They are in Chronological order from fresh-out-of-the-dye-bath to about 5 minutes ago:

As it will sit until tomorrow:

Lots of fun! Can't wait to see it all back buttoned up and running again!

You should dye all the blue axle boots, pillow-ball boots, and pillow-ball retainer plugs black...and also strip the blue off of the aluminum bulkhead tie-bars. You can get a carbon-fiber rear tie-bar, and use that Krylon black anodizing paint for the front after you strip it to silver.

Eventually, I'll get to all of that. Everything will be black, red or silver/polished.

I think I will have it up and running tomorrow afternoon.

My LHS had 1 pair of red turnbuckles and 1 pair of pushrods in stock, so I got those and some better looking driveshafts to replace the rear ones that are so beat up from playing in the gravel.

I guess I'll order the other pairs of turnbuckles and pushrods and get them coming this way.

Chad, can you direct me to some carbon fiber parts that are available.

    Thanks!

Look back on page one at HighKalibre's pics. The difference in the Navy and Royal Blues is significant.

Got some new parts installed and a question:

Any baseline settings for centering up the steering? Like, # of turns out or something along those lines?

Just screw the ball-ends all the way in and adjust once they are on the truck, then fine-tune once your wheels & tires are mounted.

    Simple enough.

You can definitely tell they're not right now that everything is put back together.

    Final pics!

I did a "wire tuck" on the servo wires. I always thought they could have been done a little neater, so I took a second to hatch out a plan. Here's what I did:

I ran them between the chassis "tunnel" and the battery vent (there's a small opening there)"

Then I slightly widened one of the holes left when I took out the battery clips and passed the wires through it up beside the receiver box:

    And it looks like this!

Clearance with the 3S *****'s installed:

    Final Re-Assembled pics:

You not going to cut out the vent on the hood to funnel air to the motor?

You could switch too a single JR 9100T and it will match the red push rods and turnbuckles .

If you get the Traxxas swaybars you can use the red alloy turnbuckles from a JATO for even more red .

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll definitely keep them in mind, but I think I have enough red, especially with the chassis being crimson.

Now, if there are some cool accessories out there in either black or silver... That's more along the lines of what I have in mind for most anything else I add from here on out. Also looking for Carbon Fiber pieces... (Ahem, Chad! LOL)

I'm also in the planning stages for one more paintjob. Since the chassis color is soooo close to that of that special football team in my life, I'm leaning toward a Bama theme. I'm also thinking about spraying a blue and silver "Red Bull" body. I have always liked Red Bull (can't drink any other "energy" drink out there really) and would like to represent them instead of following all the Monster Energy-bodied E-Revo's I've been seeing.

I still think a green one would be cool with the Green-can Castle 2200 motor. Just have to be careful not to get it too dark.

We haven't figured out a way to "bleach" out the gray chassis yet. I think a yellow one for the summit would be cool too. If you have any ideas, let me know.

I wonder what chlorine bleach would do to the gray, or the plastic for that matter, heh!

I saw where RIT has some dye remover products. I didn't think to actually read about it, but I assume it's for accidental spills on items you WEREN'T trying to dye but did anyway (your clothes, counter tops, etc), but it MAY so something to get rid of the grey.

I'll see if I can find a link to what I saw...

dye remover doesn't work either. it doesn't affect the gray material. but will probably "undye" a chassis.
