Lipo Battery Suggestions

Here are a few budget-friendly lipo suggestions for the 1/16 E-revo.

A big thanks to corracing for taking the time to ask Traxxas customer service about the 1/16 E-revo's battery compartment dimensions.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with Tenergy, a decent battery company offering relatively inexpensive products. I've had great experiences so far with their NIMH batteries.

There's a store on E-Bay called All Battery Center that deals primarily in Tenergy batteries. The following lipo batteries will fit according to corracing's dimensions, recorded straight from Traxxas representatives:

11.1v 2000mah lipo

Dimensions: 34mm x 19mm x 100mm

Continuous discharge rate: 30A

Burst discharge rate: 40A

7.4v 1300mah lipo

Dimension: 87.5 x 35.5x 12 mm

Continuous discharge rate: 25C (32A)

Burst discharge rate: 50C (65A)

Here are the batteries I use in my mini-t and they will just fit in the 1/16ths battery box. They work awesome and I get 30+ minutes of run time in my mini-t. They are only $15 a piece.

The only thing you have to do is change the connector to traxxas ones.

After reading the same thread and checking Maxamps website for dimensions of my 2S and 3S packs, I became really disappointed.

I knew something looked... off. First thing was that after I logged into my account, the 10% ("Bronze" I think it was called) discount was lowered to 5%. That's a bunch of junk. But whatever...


My biggest problem comes from their huge price jump in the packs themselves. Here is the receipt I got when I placed the order from them.
It was only $32.39! Even with the three year warranty is was still cheaper than it is now.
NOW, the same configuration is $57.74 instead of $41.37.




If you ask me, that's a little outrageous. All of their 1/10 packs have been revamped with capacities and C ratings. But not the 1/18 sizes -- they're all the same as before.

That's just messed up.
Apogee would be my next choice.

i think im going to try yo get a couple of those 2000mah maby


here are some iv found... some are 4mm to tall witch im pretty sure would not be hard to change with a dremal and some of the packs fit with no mods...

That's just messed up.
Apogee would be my next choice.

So you got deans plugs with a 3 years coverage? For around $55-$60 for your 1/16 lipo. To me that isn't bad at all. What kind of coverage do these other companies offer compared to 3 years? When I priced that battery a few months back it was that price.

I think the maxamps packs are overpriced. I haven't tried one but I would like to try one. The only thing keeping me from that is the price. I think spc is alot better but they don't have any mini packs.

I would love to see someone come out with 'hard case' lipo's for these kits.

SPC used to have small lipos. They were Kokam.

Redman, no, the 2 cell 1550 I bought a while back was just under $42. THAT was a good price. They have since risen their prices by nearly 40%. That's assenine. It's the same pack. Their 1/10 packs have hard cases and better C ratings. The prices are more justified now.

I won't be buying any mini packs from them until they put the price back down 40%.

Maxamps, what are you THINKING?
It's a recession! Lower prices, don't raise them!
