Freddy & Chachie Hit the Dipsea Trail and Pfiefer Park on the California Coast

Head north on Pacific Coast Highway towards Stinson Beach. Turn right on Panoramic Highway and the Dipsea Trail system begins. I just touched on the first mile or two, but it was amazing. Even more challenging trails can be found up in the hills surrounding Mt. Tamalpais.

The beginning of the trail is easy...

Most of the stairs are either passable or easy to go around...

    It's a jungle out there...

Whenever possible we stop to observe the nature around us. In this case, a banana slug that went for a ride...

    Some nice challenging bits...

Beautiful views when you come out of the trees...

Bunny goes for a ride too...

    Tree tunnel...

Found this little monster at the bottom...

More to come from further down the coast of Big Sur...

We headed south of Monterey into the Pfiefer State Park system. Found another green trail heading out to the coast...

    Mud and bridges everywhere...

Unfortunately, with all the recent rain, the "creek" had become a river and we couldn't continue, even with the diffs locked...

Yes, it's definitley that spider. Very nice, thank you!

California is one of the most diverse places I've ever known. Most people who visit only see a small part of it. I've lived here for 40 years and still find new places all the time...

Keep visiting. My Summit only gets to explore Virginia red clay and limestone.
