New setup can't believe it's the same truck

Bought my slayer in jan and wasn't really impressed of how it handled. A buddy and i went to a local track and ran for about 3 hours and i made just a couple of minor adjustments on the spring collars and it got better. I went and installed a sway bar kit and only have been able to run at work or in my backyard, and i can say that made a world of differance. Today i installed double black springs in the back with 50wt oil and swapped the rear springs up front with 45wt oil in the shocks. Then i installed a slayer center diff kit and the rear brake kit,and also swapped the stock wheels and tires with a sc8. All i can say is i can't wait for the rain to fially be over so i can get this thing back on the track. Just running it a work and in my backyard after these upgrades i can honestly say this thing is one of the best handleing rc vehicles i've ever owned.

Just got back from a hard day of work running my slayer. adjusted my brake bias and wow this thing is like on a rail now. Gonna try to get out to the track tommorow to test this thing out. I'm gonna try to find something to measure the camber to change the setup again.

3 threads out on bottom pivot balls in rear, tops all the way in,use tape measure to check toe in,a little less neg camber in fnt, worked great for me, eyeball from front to rear/rear to fnt, and from above to check,if its off its easy to tell....

cadman what do you have your caster angle set at? mine truck is still all factory i am in the process of clearing to build my track. I was going to try the lower holes in the front a arms. and about -2 deg camber all the way around. Not sure which way to toe the fronts and rears tho

havent checked it with a gauge ,but only thing i did was lower holes in fnt and rear a-arms,3 threads showing on lower pivots, uppers all the way in at the top, little bit less negative camber in front, now i do front end alignments on real cars so i guess i just know but i would imagine mine is just about perfect at 2.5 to 3.0 negative in rear, slighty less in front, slight amount of toe in up front little more in rear,i am going to put arms back up in upper holes like the new setup sheet says but i swear everything guys on here say, plus the setup sheet makes my slayer better and better, thanks everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to the track last night. The truck handled great and was pretty well hooked up through the whole course. The only problem i had was that in a tight corner under power the truck wanted to push bad. I would have to let out of the gas almost completely to get it to turn. With that being said on the long straight with a sharp left turn i could just barely tap the brakes to get the tail to brake loose enough to turn. It seems like i read somwhere that the center diff could cause this problem. Does anyone have any advise on this?

What weight oils are in the diffs? You may need to go to a lighter weight oil. I have not changed mine, but on my 8T they are waaaayyy thinner!!!! I have been wondering why traxxas put such thick oil in the diffs?

When you turn out the pivot balls I assume you have to also turn out the turn buckles right?
Also how do I lower the ride height, I can't for the life of me figure it out.

On you 8T 7000, 10000, 5000 that is front to rear. The thinner oil should loosen up the diffs, and not make it feel like it has a spool in it.

Bombss to lower your ride height, you need to loosen the spring tention, the adjusters on the shocks.

I got a whole set or the Teflon coated GTR shocks sitting on my workbench waiting to be installed. Which springs should I get? Does Traxxas make them or are they from somebody else? I keep hearing about the double black and double purples, where do I get them?

You can get them through traxxas.... buytraxxas.com.... lookup the slayer, and under suspention and they have many different springs. I think that they are like $6 a pair.
