By far the most recommended brushed motor on this site is the Orion BB. It seems to have very good performance and the brushes last for about 30 runs. Does anyone know how a similiar Epic Intense motor performs in comparison to the orion? I know the brushes will not last as long, but is the orion any faster...etc then the Epic? Would a similiar 17t Epic have same performance as 17t Orion?

is the orion 17t the exact match for a stock setup?

No, it wouldnt be a match for a stock setup. I would imagine it would have more torque and more top end speed than the titan.

with the orion engine, would you need to use a different pinion or spur gear combo?

You would probably want to start with a smaller pinion gear. like a 15t. Usually its best to start with a pinion gear which has two gears fewer than the number of turns of the engine. So a 17t engine would be 15 pinion. 19 turn would be 17 pinion...etc.
