    Longer Run Times

So here it is again. I have a stock Summit with 2x7 cell 4200 batteries. I love it and it is awesome. The problem is that I want MORE!!!
I am looking for everyone's opinion on this. Should I:
    A) just buy more of the same batteries (I would have to be continually charging and changing them out)
    B) go brushless ( would I have gearing/temp issues with the 2 speed trans- would it still be waterproof?)
    C) go lipo (I think I would need a new ESC too, wouldn't I?)
    D) any other suggestions to increase run times other than drive like a sissy

what brand batteries do you have? My buddy has a pair of 5000mah elite and a pair of 4600mah duratrax 7 cells and he gets about 30 min run time with those. I think that is very impressive for nimh batteries.

That is your problem. Check out www.cheapbatterypacks.com and look at their elite 5000mah packs. Only $50.00 ea. and very nice.

Thanks round. You are the man. (I was actually writing this for my bro) By the way, are the batteries you suggested water proof?

2s 8000mAh or 3s 5000mAh are the largest Lipo packs that will fit in the stock battery compartments. If you are going to run the stock ESC, that means two 2s packs. That's the highest voltage the ESC can handle.

no, not unless you plasti-dip the ends or find another way to water proof it. there are max-amps lipos the clan to be "waterproof" but i dunno.

with my promatch 4600 nimh batteries in crawl mode i get 45 plus minutes of bash crawling, thinking of going to 2s 5000mah lipo's and looking for near or more than an hour of strait bashing!
