Unhappy I fell and got hurt.:(

Well, this has to be the worst fall I had in a long time. Let me set up the picture: Our walkway is make up of 6x6 wooden ties and cement blocks. I have a bad habit or running down the walkway. When it rains, the wood becomes VERY slippery, not normally an issue if you walk normally.Just a few hours ago, me and my mom and dad were just coming home from visiting relatives. It was a rainy night. We were walking up the the front door as normal when I remembered I left my new pair of boots in the truck. So like an idiot, I run back down the walkway. I hit one of the 6x6's slid out and landed on my chin. The sound of my jaw clamping together as I hit the concrete blocks was absolutely horrible. I just laid there moaning while my mom and dad ran over and helped me up. I thought for sure that broke my jaw and/or teeth. After a few minutes, I got up and everything seemed ok until I looked down at my hands. They were covered in blood and there was blood all over the walkway. So I hobble into the house and start washing up to see what got damaged. It turns out that the bottom of my chin got riped open and I skined 3 knuckles on my right hand. We were able to get the bleeding to stop and I got bandaged up. I sat down and looked over my body to see what else got hurt.
    So far:
1 scraped open chin. The skin was hanging off!
3 skined nuckles missing more skin
    2 bashed knees
    1 scraped thy
    my teeth hurt
    uhm.....
oh yeah, my back hurts too. God knows what I damaged there.

    It's gonna be a long night.....and a hard morning!

Sucks dude get a heating pad and ice packs and ibuprofen. Maybe some nightime cold medicine to make ya sleep through it. Wet wooden decks and walkways are like ice, be more careful.

you're lucky I was in an accident with a friend of mine when I was 17 we clanged heads together. My damage report was this, 2 missing teeth 20 stitches in each tooth socket (they were unable to save the teeth) 17 stitches where the tooth came through my lip fractured jaw and facial reconstruction on my upper and lower jaw

Yeah that's excatly what could have happened, I am soooo glad that I didn't crack my jaw or knock out teeth. My teeth do hurt pretty bad though. I hit that concrete HARD. It felt like somebody took a baseball bat and wacked my jaw.

Right now, everything hurts, my chin is bandaged up, and I can't sleep.

Well, it was a rough night and morning, but I am starting to feel a little better now. I still have a pretty nasty gash in my chin. I probably should have gotten stiches. There is a LOT of skin missing off my knuckles too. Nothing is bleeding too bad.

I guess this will teach me to stop running too fast.LOL

I hope by now you've been to a doctor and/or dentist for an x-ray. Just because you can't see anything, doesn't mean something isn't damaged.

i have also broken my thumb (tipped over a desk thats hooked to the chair)
and my finger (a fat kid at my school jumped on my back and started strangeling me because he thought i threw a ball at him. then we fell over and the combined 330 pounds (im 130) broke my finger)

I'd get some grip tape on those wooden steps. Someone else may slip on them when they are wet....

Hope you get feeling better soon...

    +1... I love grip tape...

I put some on my PWC trailer after I slipped on the fender trying to strap it down and I smacked my nose into the hull and bled all over it...

I also have it on the gas tanks of all of my dirtbikes, it makes it easier to grip the bike with my knees when I'm in the air.

Thanks, I feel better today. I had a kinda normal day. Still have to take it easy and watch my chin and knuckles.

I did find out that I chiped a tooth. I can feel it with my finger. It isn't bothering me much, so I won't worry about it for now.

What cracks me up, I ride a 100cc dirtbike on trails and never once got hurt. Then I take a walk(ok run) down my walkway and bam, I get nailed. Go figure.

Trust me, I was pretty grossed out when I looked down and saw my hand covered in blood. I didn't even know where it was coming from. This thread is nothing compared to that

It never fails... I race motocross, and never get hurt on the track... I always wreck on pit tracks or in the parking lot... (once I ran into my leg with my T-Maxx, that counts too, right?)

Don't feel bad, I am a total klutz too... This morning I stubbed my toe on a desk, then tripped and tried to catch myself and hit the wall... with my face...

It was maybe doing 20-25... It was like a... well, small 10lb monster truck running into me...

I can compare it to the playground from elementary school... remember when you were in 2nd grade, and the big mean 5th graders threw the kickball really hard at your legs so that you would fall? Imagine that ball was a 10lb bag of sand...

I wonder how bad my R/C powerwheels would hurt?

You should tell your parents to buy some of that sandpaper grip tape to put on your walkway so noone slips.
