I have noticed that alot of slashes have no antenna sticking out the roof ? Why or how is this done ? Do you loose range ?

They are using 2.4 ghz electronics like Spektrum which do not need a long wire.

I learned a trick from the local track guys, have the antenna stick out the back. Drill a hole in the body where the rear window would be, and the antenna lays pretty flat in relation to the body. Doesn't make it disappear, but dramatically improves it's look. Haven't had any range issues yet, so I can't imagine this makes too much of a difference.

I saw somewhere online an antenna strapped to the chassis with plug ties at various points. Would that be on a race truck or crawler?

I have mine tucked under the rear body post and it is not spektrum antennae, but I think my range is shortened a bit. I just have it under there to prevent damage when I roll over. ........alot. lol.
