Wink will an 8 cell fit in a slash?

will an 8-cell battery fit in the tray of a slash? It looks like it will if you take out the foam block and the cells are arranged so

six cells are in the standard position,
one on top in standard hump style,
and one on the end perpendicular to the others.

you can fit 7 parallel in the tray and then i guess stack as many as your esc and motor will handle on top. just use velcro straps to hold the battery down. it would be heavy though.
    ...true story.

only if they are unmatched stick packs. if you get the matched parallel packs from promatch or spc then you will need straps.

An 8 cell will fit the slash but the motor won't last long. I burned up a 15 turn Epic modified on the 2nd run. The XL5 also went from bearly being warm with a 7 cell to getting pretty hot with the 8.

As far as fit, yes, the promatch will fit, it's the same 8 cell I have.

I run 8 cells nimh and 3s lipo.. holds up fine so far. Not too hot, but the weather here is still cold so that might help.. Runs like a champ for me, but i know the 3s lipo really hurts the lifetime of the stock setup..
