I just got a .12 CV-R and i haven't run it yet because i don't get it till christmas. i want your guys opinion on the engine: is it good, does anyone else have it, and does it have a lot of power, and how long will it last as compared to the Pro.

GO BIG, OR GO HOME
Yes i have a .12 cv-r (a few others with rustlers also have them). It is a great engine plenty of power, never overheats, very reliable, i have 2 gallons through mine so far and its still goin great. You will need to grind on the tranny brace a small amount so the idle screw will clear it. Also if you gto the pull start version the motor mounts will have to be grinded and the chassis filed in for the pull start to clear correctly. Good luck and have fun.
Dustin
P.S. Heres a picture with the cv-r installed on my rustler.

look'n good. i don't know how that engine runs, but everyone says good things about it.
one question? what was your motivation in leaving the reciever case off? is the baloon enough to do the job?

About the battery case:
I took off the case because with the extra power wheelies were a BIG problem and I was trying to remove as much weight as possible from the rear. I have had no problems with it so far. I have driven it when it was wet out and through puddles with no problems. Since the pic i have drilled more holes so i now have 3 zip ties holding it in place because it would move around a little to much for my tastes.
The engine runs great. It is very reliable and will idle and run all day with out bogging or overheating. If you are will to spend the money i would recommend this engine to you or anyone else looking for an upgrade.
later,
Dustin
