My summit with cc2000 and 4pk.

I mounted up my cc2200 and 4pk radio, i got the lockers working on front and rear together, but haven't figured out how to lock front or rear only. Will have to try to do some radio mixing. Put some stickers on it to give it that hopped up look. I got some maxamps 8000 in it. Tommorrow i will give it a go outside. Kinda worried if it will take the power of the monster. I hope i don't regret putting such a powerful system in it. LOL.

Gee! How fast can the Mamba Monster make that Summit go in first gear? Got any vids of that thing at WOT in second? It's gotta be scary to see a Summit go 45 MPH with those tires ballooning!

I can lock the front and rear diffs together with controller, but have to figure out if i can use a mix in the radio to seperate them. Let's face it, i don't care if i can only lock front or rear, both is fine with me, to get out of sticky situations, then back to high for some bashin. I am going to take it out right now, will report back. I hope it don't explode, lol.

K, it's still cold here, so it was a short run, but i used the stock 14 pinion, and i wouldn't say speeds are insane, it would be it i geared it up, but i kind of like the speed as it is right now, it accelerates like a rocket thou. I am in love at the moment. I chewed all locked up a couple of hills by the house to and no problems yet. I am being careful locking and unlocking thou, as this system is know to blow up machines. LOL.

Thanks guy's, i am sure liking it, love how big this sucka is. Tires are huge. Suspension is very plush. I think traxxas has a winner here, i know there will be some teething pains along the way, but this is way cool. Best of both worlds. No for racing, but for slow challenging stuff, and all round bashing around.

    WAY TO GO TRAXXAS.

I am pretty sure that the diff locking works with 0 degrees as no lock, 15 degrees as front diff only, and 30 degrees as front and rear together (or some variant similar in proportion). It sounds like you got the servo as all or nothing. I'm not familiar with the tuning of the 4pk and how to pull it off, but I hope that helps.

Keep us up to date on the drivetrain with the brushless. I had part 5678 snap (rear differential lock) after 30 minutes of run time. While I have brushless in all of my other cars, I am hesitant to take that plunge on the Summit with the issues I've had.

I am already doing that, works good. ps1 switches my high and low, and ps2 does my unlocking and locking of diffs.

It's been a while since I read the 4pk manual and tried to figure how to set it up for all the Summit functions. I was trying to configure channel 4 to two buttons to operate the two servos but channel 4 is limited as to which buttons/functions you can assign to it. Maybe channel 3 is different, I can't remember. Anyway my thought was to use the dial knob on channel 4 and set the servo monitor screen on the display, then you could figure out what the servo positions need to be for the diff locker servos. I'll have to tackle it eventually but I want to run mine stock for a bit to see if any more problems arise before I install the new radio gear and brushless system. Right out of the box I have a bad servo that shorts the bec and kills all functions until it's unplugged, then everything works fine. Traxxas is sending a new servo...

I was thinking about the maxamps 8000's as well. Do you run in pairs? What kind of (relative) run times you getting? Do you have a standalone cutoff? Please fill me in! I bought a pair of brand new Nimh packs with my Summit and I'm having problems getting them to peak. Been looking for an excuse to go Lipo and was hoping the 8000's, for the money, would nab me some good (relative) run times. I'm looking to get the batt/charger combo.

I am getting about an hour give or take outta my packs, i am using maxamps 8000 2s, and bought the novak 4s lipo cutoff. Soldered in, and viola. Tons of jam, and lot's of run time. I love it. Yes if you are buying maxamps, get the combo, that's what i did, to, the duo charger is sweet.
