Mow yards, rake leaves, car wash. If you have legos or old rcs or anything, sell em on craigslist.

Go to some constructions sites and find the boss. Ask him if you can make some $$$ cleaning up, or just doing some odd labor. Most guys I know in construction would love to have a 14 year old kid show up and want to work. Alot of construction jobs pay $100 a day. You might not be able to get that right away, but if you show them your not afraid to work you should do good. Of course I guess you'd have to find a site that is working on the weekend, but alot do. I know I like it when I see kids that don't think their parents are talking atm's.

hmm can you work with a workers permit? or you might need to be 15... how long till then? maybe a restuarant will let you bus tables or somthing? during the summer maybe work for the soil conservation thats what i did in 7th and 8th grade, i helped with the trees from 8 to 5 and got paid min. wage. I also did inventory for a hardware store close to my home whenever they needed it. Otherwise I would say do yard work, mow lawns, showel snow, rake leaves, etc. Maybe babysit someones kids that you know?

Depending on the laws of the state, that would be a huge liability for the construction company. But a lot will depend on how reputable and regulated that local area is with building or code enforcement. Being in the construction industry, I would not recommend labor style work until you are over 16.

That could be a problem on commercial construction, but shouldn't be a problem on residential. My 10 yr old was making $8/hr this summer working for a church where we were doing the drywall. He had to climb around and do some fire taping on a fire ceiling where nobody else could fit. They made me sign a waiver, but it was cool. It can't hurt to ask. I know several construction people who bring their kids on jobs.

i would say yard work at home. for the last 5 years i have spread mulch around my house at $10 an hour that my dad pays me. i usually get around $350-$400 a season.
any yard work would be good for someone your age.

Just look outside. I bet there is snow on the ground. Ther is good money to be made shoveling snow. When I was 14 I made 300 in one day shoveling for the elderly in my neighborhood. Just be polite and ask them if you can, or do what I did start shoveling and when they ask why tell them because you wanted to and they will usually give you something for being a good neighbor.

I work for a Fortune 500 Home Builder. Our regulations would not allow anyone under the age of 18 or our sub contractors to have someone on our site. We require our subs to carry a million dollar liability insurance and I'm pretty sure they would not be able to carry that coverage if they did or were caught. With that being said, that is my company and regulations and they change from state to state and builder to builder.

IMO, I would never allow anyone under the age of 18 on one of my sites. I have seen a person come off a roof and get impailed on rebar several years back, I have seen a roof collapse with someone on the roof....just to many dangers in a high activity construction site. If the contractor is doing renovations then that might be fine or as a general clean up laborer working to sweep out or clean a finished home, but I would not put somebody that age in a home that was not to the drywall stage. Again, my opinion and how my company runs it's sites.

That's more what I was talking about. I don't mean get up on a roof or, climbing scaffolding. Every site could use a little clean up, there are a couple of small companies here that specialize in doing only job site clean ups. Thought about getting into that myself.

It depends on the size of the driveway and sidewalks and how deep the snow is. The deeper it is the heavier it will be. My max charge would be 20, especially for the elderly as they usually do not have much cash on them anyway. But the trick is to do a really good job so when it snows again they will see you and ask you to do it again for them. I say sidewalks because in my city it is actually against the law to not shovel them. If a cop is having a bad day he could give you a ticket here. That is not just for bussiness it is called a right of pass.

I tried to get a job at fifteen to help pay for my hobby, but I always got turned down. Maybe this summer.

It gets discouraging. I went to every (yes, every) house in my neighborhood asking of people wanted there lawns mowed or yards edged. Not a single person wanted me to mow or edge.

Hang in there !! People have lost their jobs due to our economy. So it might be tougher to find work. But stay positive.I did this way back when, I picked up dog waste.I know it sounds horrible. But it's a job that no one really wants to do.But you can pocket some $$$ doing it.My nephew did it last year and made out quite well.Basement clean outs, attics, walking dogs and of course Snow removal. But it's great to see you don't want it handed to you.
    Good Luck.

You can be an Ebay flipper.....

Buy an item that is always being sold/bought. Lets say a Dual shock 3 PS3 controller. Find it for an insanely low price of like 25-30 than sell it for it's retail of around $50-54....That's a profit of like 15-20 bucks depending on shipping.

I used to have an Ebay store where I did this (Loooong time ago). I checked Amazon ALOT and my local flyers. It earned me a bit of money....
