Reading the details on brushless electric motors on wikipedia, I found two statements that contradict what I've read here on the forum.
1. Lack of a commutator in a brushless motor reduces EMI.
2. The motor doesn't need internal airflow (if sufficient cooling through case) and so the motor can be entirely closed and sealed from dirt (actually they don't say water, but if it's sealed, why not water?)
Anyone know why it seems to be common knowledge here that a brushless system is not water proof, and produces more EMI requiring a 2.4 Ghz radio. Where is this discrepancy coming from?
