I finally got a decent day to breaking my new 18tz. The temp outside was 68F and humid. The engines carb needles were set at factory and I checked them before cranking it up. High speed 3 turns out, Low speed 1.5 turns out and flush, and the Mid speed is set at 1 turn out. I cranked it up and it ran and idled great. I was doing the heat cycle breakin. Ran it for 2 minutes, check the temp and it was only at 150 and didn't have hardly any smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. I shut it off and made sure it was at BDC, put some foil around the head and ran it again after it cooled down for 2 more minutes, the temp got to 180 and still hardly any smoke so I didn't lean the high speed out. After that I ran it a little harder about half throttle and saw a little bit of smoke. So I check the low speed with the pinch test, it was a little lean so I richen it up a 1/12 of a turn and rechecked it, it was right on the money then. Ran for 3 to 4 seconds with a little increase in the RPM's.
Now should I richen the HSN to get more smoke or the MSN or even the LSN? Its defiantly not smoking enough and its not getting hot enough either. I'm afraid to run it any more without getting more smoke from the exhaust.
Any help please.
