    LiPo Question/Motor Question....

Hey, guys - I'm new to the Revo scene w/ my E-Revo on the way - can't wait!! I own a Traxxas VXL Rustler and some other RC cars, but I've been into heli's for 3 years and just looking for a fun change.

Ok - here's my questions. I want to go LiPo w/ my Revo, and I want to know if someone can "ballpark" a run time for the 2S1P 3300mah 25C batts below. I know run time varies greatly due to many factors, but a "geusstimate" would be much appreciated. Also, let me know if the amp rate of the battery will be okay.

Outrage 2S1P 3300mah 25C LiPo - They Fit, and I can get a great deal.

Next Question. As soon as my Titan's go, I will be going for a MMM brushless setup w/ 3S LiPo power. Can someone give me a ballpark run time with he 3S1P 4200mah below?

Last question - for now, at least! As for the MMM, what Kv should I opt for - 2200Kv or 2650Kv? Can anyone highlight the differences? I plan on running on a groomed track w/ loose dirt, so I'm into race more than anything. Thanks!!

    God bless - Rare

First, runtime is soo hard to guess due to all the variables (weight, gearing, drive style, terrain, climate, etc), that any guess is all but worthless.

If you are planning to go brushless anyway, you might as well wait to get the dual 3s lipos for that. In the meantime, I would just get some cheaper NiMH cells for the Titans. From what many people say, Titans don't seem to last all that long anyway. But, at a guess 4s 3300mAh 25C batteries should get you 15-20 minutes on the stock setup. I used to get 13 minutes on 14XGP3300's NiMHs on a converted BL Revo setup.

6s 4200mAh @ 25C should get you between 20-30 minutes on the MMM setup. I would NOT run the 4s 3300mAh 25c pack on this setup as the discharge rating isn't high enough (83A).

The KV you choose depends on the voltage you plan to run. Since you say you will be running 6s, I would get the 2200kv. If you decide to run 4s, the 2650 would be my choice. But whenever possible, always shoot for the higher voltage/lower kv - current will be lower and efficiency will be higher.

Brian - thanks so much for your answer; helps immensely. If I can run a 2S 3300mah LiPo for around 15 to 20 minutes on the Titans, that would be fantastic. I'm going brushless early next year, so I need something in the mean time, and I can get the Outrage batteries for cheap.

As for my setup, it will be all stock, and I will be running on a semi-groomed track. I live in Cali, so the climate is mild (cool this time of year), and my driving style is conservative on the track - trying to keep in control by managing throttle.

Thanks again, and thanks for any other feedback from others!

    Hey rare,
You may want to order the spc 2S 8000 lipos unless your price on the outrage packs are really SUPER good.

Dont know if you have rules at your track, but 6S lipos at the track are just too fast and not really needed in my opinion. 4S geared correctly should be plenty.

The 8000 2S packs will work with the titans, and will work with the brushless when you upgrade giving nice long run times....

Skeppley -thanks!! As for the track, it's a small track out at my friends house - table top, 2 berms, some small jumps and a small straight away - very small, but a lot of fun. I'm running against a Losi 8ight, so I have some serious competition!

I can get a great deal on the Outrage packs, but those SPC packs are really, really tempting. I have a VXL Rustler on 3S and 2S, and on 3S, it's out of control. As for (2) SPC 2S2P 8000mah packs, are we talking lots of power w/ a brushless setup? I'm not looking for max speed - that's fun till your car flips end over end for about 100' feet! ;-)

If I can get race performance out of the 2S SPC's, I just may have to go that route.....any feedback would be great!!

PS: The SPC 8000mah 2S2P packs fit w/o mods to a stock E-Revo?

Welcome Rarebear.Yes the SPC's fit with no mods. They do very good for brushless and give outrageous runtime.45 minutes with brushless geared for around 45 is no problem.

I also run the spc 8000's with my novak 5.5 BL setup. They are great batteries and EXCEPTIONAL batteries for the price. I get 35-40 minutes of HARD running off them and the power is good enough for me.

Asheck/Dr. bjm - thanks so much!! I think the SPC's are the way to go. I can get a great deal on the Outrage packs, but when run-time is factored in, the SPC's just go forever - probably would only get 15 mins out of my 3300mah batts. Thanks so much for the feedback!!

One other question - think the 2S2P SPC 5000mah batts would give good run time? How about w/ brushless - enough amps?
