go roto. The EZ start is to heavy and pull stat in my opinion is a pain. So go roto.

electric is my # 1, ez & simple to repair if you one day
needed to. Pull start is pull start, always remembering my quad
when was kid 17 years ago that's why i hate it... you'll find yorself
in need for spare parts faster than anyother starting option
if you arn't a racer go electric

Ive tried all three this last summer
ez start: 7/10 cons: heavy, wires get cut easy, people have problems with the wands, still have batteries to worry about. pros: if you flip and stall its easy to carry to your car, adds a little weight to the center of the jato who can be wheelie happy, not labor intensive
pull start:5/10 cons: blisters, bloody knuckles, breaks easy, i had to modify the body to use or remove it, repetitious, physical labor involved pros: light weight, just need a glow plug igniter, nothing to carry, once tuned start in a couple of pulls.
roto: 8/10 cons: battery powered, carry it around or bring your car to it, modify the body to access it or remove it, reinstall it upside down because of larger tire selection, pros: fast, improvise with a drill if needed, no labor
search you tube for a guy modifying an easy start wand into a remote start on his rc. perfect for onroad bashing
this was just my experience i used all of these in this order and will continue with the roto and pull as backup

With a good tune and a quick prime, a glow igniter and a pull start is all you need...Two tugs and your off and running. Good tune being the "key words". Pull starts will last many, many gallons if your not tugging on them endlessly.
    No slipper/tall gearing/power = broken parts.

The first day i got m pull start i hated it. I couldnt start the car and ended up with terrible blisters on my fingers. However, now that i have learned more about my Jato and how to tune it properly it takes about 2 or 3 pulls to get it going after primed.
Basically my opinion is the pull start over ez-start.

all my trucks are roto start. everytime I want out for bashing, all I carry is one rotostarter & extra battery pack.

    Pull start... buddy...

I did a weight management thread a couple months ago and discovered the trx pullstart to weigh less than a rotostart backplate. Not only that, as mentioned above, all you have to lug around is a glow ignitor...

My glow ignitor has never failed me with ignition (i use a Dubro ignitor with beep tester). And my arm will definitely outlast any 6 cell battery pack. I hated when my ez battery died, it would be the only reason to end a bash session.

You dont need a perfect tune to use a pullstart. You just need a decent one.. And if you're using an OS engine, the tuning window is humongous. When the engine is warm, all is needed (for me anyway), is one revolution (one "pop") and the engine is on. A flick of the wrist quite literally.

I have never broken the 2.5/2.5R/3.3 pull starts. They are just well designed. Havent broke a string or had to rewind the spring. The pull start i have on my revo now, is from 4.5 years ago when i first got my 2.5R revo...

I never managed to get my pull start to work well, in most cases I was almost throwing my Jato as I tried. If I could get it to work it would be my preferred method as my other truck is so easy to start with the pull.

Pull start is the best IF.... you have a fine tune engine.
    Otherwise, Roto is my choice.
