BL + NiMh duet, is it to take into consideration ?

    Just imagining ......

I know that expensive and powerfull lipos are far better but comparing stock titans / 700HO / with the 2200kv Mamba paired with 8.4 4600 Nimh ...can the BL erevo system give a benefit or does it necessarily need super expensive lipos ? I say this having already 6 Nimh and I am just imagining an option for the very next year.

Then, can a BL systems work with a stock radio or is it mandatory to use a 2.4 Ghz transmitter to avoid interferences that will surface for sure ?

    thanks

With a pair of spc 7 cells, you should notice about five possible ten mph more top speed over the stock titians in the original E Revo. There will more than likely be more punch off the line as well. However, even though those spc packs are high quality NiMh, they will inevitably have heat issues due to running them with the high powered brushless system.
The new E Revo Brushless Edition comes stock with a 2.4ghz transmitter.
Jato 3.3 RPM arms all the way around, Hitec 645 steering servo, road hawg tires on RPM rims, chassis upgrade soon to come, too many parts replaced to mention. Got my eye on a Revo 3.3, hope to get one before too much longer.

If you are going brushless you need to go with lipo's, nimh wont go the distance,i melted my nimh with a brushless system, you don't need to pay through the nose for lipo's either, check out the FAQ to find the best deals, hobby king in Hong Kong is the way to go, half price compared to most other suppliers and better batteries too. As for the transmitter 2.4 is the best for no glitching, I have tried an FM radio it was 100% better than the stock traxxas with a brushless system, but hey traxxas wouldn't supply a 2.4 with the new brushless system if it didn't need it!!!

I love my Nimhs with a Brushless eRevo, matter of fact i kicked a Lipo set up in another eRevo. I get plenty of run time and incredible top speeds. I am running Trinity 4600s and SPC 4600s, Safe and powerful. So - yes

A Brushless eRevo with Nimhs is plenty of fun!!

of Course the 2.4 ghz is needed for the range the eRevo will want to run

I'd be curious to hear what kind of brushless setup you are running that its kicking a lipo setup off of the street, or the track for that matter. I guess it matters which setup, but I doubt that in matched systems that nimh would stand a chance. Even the best nimh packs don't have the low internal resisitance as good lipos do at the same voltage..

yes we are probably NOT racing apples to apples, Novak/Nimh vs twin VXL/Lipo. On the street, the Twin V would probably win, but in the Dirt the Novak has the low end torque. Although on the Awesome meter, the Novak sounds like a jet engine vs. some wining 4 cylinders - JIMO

Most brushless systems sound like jet engines. Least all mine do.
