    Question ******* 6S charger

I was just checking this charger out and I had some questions.

    1. If I make a series adapter, will it charge my *****-H 3S 5000 packs fully?
    2. Will it use A/C power? I don't see it on the overview anywhere.
    3. Is it worth my attention? It's a heckofalot cheaper than the Hyperion Duo.

    1) shouldnt be a problem
    2) if its not listed you most likely need a supply.
    3) yes, there are many options cheaper then the price of the hyperion duo

I recommend THIS power supply for a decent/cheap way to go, no matter what charger you decide.

as or the charger itself, I recommend THIS one for only a few bucks more.

    why?

four times the wattage = faster charge times. good to have if you're planning to make a series adapter.

Man, you guys are on top of it. Always know what's up with chargers.

Is that series adapter made with JST balance plugs? Will I need one for the discharge lead too?

Would you think it would be fine to charge the 5000 packs through the balance plug only?

I found this too if your answer is yes.

    if it were me, I use BrianG's lipo wiring config at the bottom of this page;
    http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/_lipo.html

it shows how to wire up a balance/charge setup so you can charge two batteries at once.

I never tried going through the balance taps, but id assume its kinda slow.

So I guess those tiny wires are not capable of handling 5 amps?

    Slowly collecting information...

So It would be smart for me to make a series connector for the discharge lead as well in your opinion? And what's the point of the Deans connector on that series adapter blman linked to?

i think that adapter only uses the balance taps to charge, while if using brianG's adapter you use the main leads to charge and the balance taps to keep the cells within the same range.

Suicideneil's FAQ thread just told me that I NEED a power supply for a D/C current only charger. Is that true? Can't I just use a 12v battery?

Which brings me to my next question. He said that to charge a 6S 5000 pack at 1C, I need a charger that will put out 120w. This charger only puts out 50. Does that mean I won't be able to push 5 amps? How much will I be able to charge at?

Yes you can use a battery.
Which brings me to my next question. He said that to charge a 6S 5000 pack at 1C, I need a charger that will put out 120w. This charger only puts out 50. Does that mean I won't be able to push 5 amps? How much will I be able to charge at?
That is correct. You will only be able to charge at abot 2.5 amps. I would suggest at least 100 watt charger,or http://www.*********.com/*********/s...r_&_discharger

Ok, ~$80 isn't too too bad I guess. Is there a difference output-wise between using a power supply and a 12v battery?

I think as long as the 12v battery can supply the amps I guess it would be fine. But that same place sells a good power supply. cheap http://www.*********.com/*********/s...y_for_Chargers Thats the route I'd go.BTW check shipping from there as it comes from Hong Kong.

Thanks. Yeah I know about the shipping. It's going to be about 30 bucks for regular and 40 bucks for express. I'm going the express route because I'm impatient. And hey, what's $10 added on to 200? Big deal right?
