What is your E-REVO top speed?

I hit 65.7 MPH today with a 1515 1.5 on 5000 mah 6S. 23/62 gearing. I would have had a video of it, but my buddy thought my camera was rolling when it actually wasn't. I do have a 62.5 MPH run on video that I may post soon.

Blew out my HPI Phaltlines - well one at least. They glue those on top of the "chrome". Lousy.

Anyone hit a higher top speed than this? I think I could hit 70 or close to 80 with the right gearing. I could tell that gearing was the limiting factor.

Heat was no issue at all. After multiple speed runs and 15 minuets of hardcore bashing, my motor temp was 151 and my MMM V3 was 155. Awesome set up to say the least. I'm glad I went with the 1.5 instead of the 1Y now. It had plenty of torque on tap, even while geared on the high end.
Lots of brushless power in the garage.

My old college instructor once said... "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should."

I think that saying suits the outrageous powers we get out of these E-Revos well. Just because you can bust 70 MPH doesn't mean you should.

My top speed on a strait was 43-45 MPH on a Twin VXl system, 3S on each ESC, and on stock gearing. I think going any faster than 45 is crazy as is.

Though... I did buy a 2nd E-Revo just for the MMM. I don't intend to ever go over 60 MPH though. I'm more interested in acceleration speeds.

Drag racing...0-45 MPH in 3 seconds... now that's something I'm looking for

That's really surprising coming from someone who's screen name has "88MPH" in it. Just kidding ya buddy.

I guess each to his own. I'm not HUGE on top speed, but I gotta admit, today I did have a lot of unexpected fun finding out what my top speed was and if I could even hold 'er together at that speed.

I agree though. I'd take jet like acceleration up to 50 or so over super-wreck-your-car top speed any day. But the great thing is we have both now!

At 68 km/h (radar gun measured) my stock talon tires disappeared....

What tires / rims did you use? Otherwise it is hard to believe...

so,could any one post a video of ERBE's insane speed at least?

and DOES anyone REALLY drive ERBE more than 80 mph? is it possible? if yes,I would wonder how crazy some of RC drivers are! 1200 dollar will disappear if you hit an object at that insane speed!...1200 dollar!!!!WOW!

    NOTE:
If someone wants to destroy his/her ERBE, he/she can give it to me,instead! .

Proven to speed was just over 90mph, by forum member Over revO. There is video evidence. I'll see if I can dig it up.

A calm 44.2mph according to some old GPS. its on 2 3s right now, but I have it geared to run like it has 2 2s. I am ordering 2s batts soon, so I can still run the same speed but not have to undergear, max rpm the motor with little load from low gearing, and be able to gear up. Its getting waaay hot.

Do remember that the original post is from the end of 2008, a year before the ERBE was announced, and long before anyone was in the 90s with an EREVO.

I have no idea how fast I was going today before this went horrible. I'm running a mmm with 25/65 gearing, 2 3s orion 4700 mah 45c 11.1v batteries in seriesand was working up to the fastest speed I could when both front tires blew apart and sent the car cartwheeling. Destroyed the wing and now down 2 practically brand new tires.

Was that airborne, falling out of an airplane?

A merv isn't heavy enough to stay on the ground at that speed. Nor are there any bl motors I'm aware of that can push one that fast.

I've GPS'd 60.x mph... not all that fast really. My biggest obstacle are the tires.
