Couple of questions on the BL E-Revo

1 Does this new BL Revo come with a single speed tranny? Or does it still use the 2 speed?

2 From those that have any experience, could you please post what batteries you are using and what kind of run times you are getting out of them. (with the same ESC and Motor the BL E-Revo will have)

I am looking into buying this truck for strictly racing. The longest main I have been involved in was half an hour at an RC Pro finals event. Wanna know if I can run 30 mins on 1 set of batteries. Any help is greatly apreciated.

    1) Single speed. Does it still use the 2 speed? It never did, only single speed on the E-Revo stock, with the possibility to upgrade to the 2 speed. With BL though, you probably don't need it.
    2) No experience here....sorry. But yes, with 8000mah packs, you should be able to do a 30 minute heat with no issues.

Have you read the FAQs in the standard E-Revo page? Great info in there to read through that might help you.

Thanks for the info. I am currently using the Revo 3.3, no experience with E-Revo at all. I have been researching the batts, just wanted to get some input from people that have had some experience.

    Thanx

I am using almost the exact system they are releasing. MMM ESC and a Neu 1515/1Y

I use the 15c 8000's brushlessman recommends and go for well over 45 minutes geared to about 40mph.

I used the ***** 4800's in a 6s series today for about 35minutes on the track

    eh. kinda.
The 8000's fit if you take the spring clip out of the top.
They are a tight fit, but they fit w/o issue.

The ***** 4800's on the other hand.....they are a different story.

The batteries themselves are fine. They actually fit better then the trc ones, ........but the wires....the wires are 8g. They are so thick. I needed to cut the doors down a but to be able to run the wires out of the compartments.

ok... looking at this pic....you see the deans plug with the wires cut sitting just behind the battery?....those wires are 12g normal size wires. now compair those to the ones on the battery....see what I mean? lol

Yeah I can see that. Those batteries must be rated for some hefty emperage to need those wires.

I see those are soft case batts. Are they all going to be soft cell? Is there a hard case batt that works? The batt trays look like they are quit hefty and protect the batt well. I have not even looked at the E Revo to closely but have been using some hard case cells on my elec 4wd buggy and like them alot. No expereince with the soft cells. I am going to sell my nitro and use the money to buy the BL E Revo.

From all the reading i have done it looks like the E Revo and the BL E Revo are pretty much the same with exception of motor and electronics. I have followed some of the E Revo forums and read about motor and ESC combinations, and think that the MMM V3 and Neu 1515 motor sounds like the current hot ticket for these things. All your input is much apreciated.

Yes, but I dont think there are any that are 3s, only 2s The batt trays look like they are quit hefty and protect the batt well. Soft cells are inside the hard case of your hard case cells, so you kinda do. I am going to sell my nitro and use the money to buy the BL E Revo. Thats what I did

good luck with your set-up bud. read through the e-revo FAQ's thread a few times, it will help to start hearing the brushless terminology and get familiar with some of the concepts of electric trucks.

Hard cases just add more problems trying to fit in them into your revo compartments. Due to the wires or bullet plugs comming out the top of the lipo. Most guys have to start hacking up the vents.
