Rings that basically clamp the tire onto the rim - prevents glueing and allows rims to be reused

I was a little bum as well. I wish they were true beadlocks.

Speaking of beadlocks I am finally getting my hands on a set of ti-22 beadlocks NIB.

    Yup...

Back in the "not excited" catagory... Tower Hobbies has this guy on its site now, this thing is cool, but ouch... Looks like if I am going to get one of these the wife will have to cut back on some of her hobbies...

Nice OCD, aluminum are beadlocks are great for crawling, but stink for high-speed, high-impact running like the big monster trucks do, titianium is the only way to go for a maxx or revo...

Really $500 for what it this has is a good value compared to the e-revo at $450.

Sure its expensive but there is nothing else like it on the market.

I am glad it didn't come with beadlocks! If it did, in high gear the beadlocks would be useless unless they were REALLY good, high quality stuff, which would drive up the price more. If you want beadlocks that work at higher speeds (like 45 and above) you can expect to easily pay 80$ or more.

I was excited too.. The video makes it look extremely sick (which it is) but then I saw that it was electric! I think they should come out with a nitro version of this. Or make kits to put the lockers on T-MAXX'S. That would be number one! I still want to get one of these though.

A nitro version of this would be a disaster...

The parts look the same so I dont see why not. except you would have to buy new diffs and other parts for the linkages and servos.

I figure Traxxas probably used the original Revo bulks for these new Summit diffs to save money. If that's true they should work just fine on a Revo. You would just have to find a way to mount the servos and all that.

Bead locks make it a lot cheaper to replace tires when they wear out or when you want to change them out for different running conditions.
