Did I just waste my money????

    E-revo $420 at LHS
    MMM $170
    Tekno Neu 1515 1y $260

That $850 not including the $180 Futaba 3pm to stop the glitching and the various wires, plugs and connectors to put the whole thing together. From what I am reading the E-revo brushless is going to go for around $650-$700.

Well wasting your money is kinda harsh, but I was told $650 for the E-revo brushless edition at Ihobby by the traxxas people.

Yup, it's already down to $634, and will probably go lower...

welcome to the club silent bob(lunchbox).
I dont want to say you "wasted" you money. I'm sure the futaba will include some extra nice features, and can be used for other vehicles. When its all said and done tho, the E-Revo BL edition will achieve the same result that you and I will get from our set-ups.
    be nice.

Glad you get the lunchbox-silet bob relation. I got that name back in my overweight with a ponytail college years.

It just sucks. I just got the Neu motor a few weeks ago and havent even run it as my MMM died the day before it showed up. And here traxxas releases the same set up for hundreds less. Thats what I get for not keeping my ear to the ground.

Not wasted money at all; at least you can say you hand picked the electronics for your truck, and didnt just buy an RTR item due to lack of knowledge and understanding. Building something yourself is worth the extra money for the satisfaction it will bring compared to just opening a box and plugging in some lipos. I'll vouche for that, as will many others

It will be awhile before the TRX version is released. In the mean time, your ESC should be shipped by the end of this week.

IMO it's worth it just to be able to say you don't have a earhole truck. You know, everybodies got 1.The other thing is the adjustable controller.I found this quite useful for fine tuning brakes with brushless. You can go from Stoppie to smooth stop at the touch of a button.

I have 2 earholes, unless that was just the polite version, lol.

    True though, very true.

I bought an E-Revo a while back. And will up grade to BL, but like The All Knowing Oracle said a big part of the fun of this hobby is wrenching. I like my trucks my way. RTR is ok, just not for me.

On a side note the Futaba transmitter can be used with more than 1 receiver. One radio for 2 trucks is a plus for me.

You know I was just running through holes in my body and that was the second 1 that came to mind. The first would have got me points.

As stated if you are wanting a Brushless E-Revo, I would wait, if you can't wait then you didn't waste your money its personal opinion. If you want to really see if you wasted your money or not you do RESEARCH first. Try to not let the money make a hole in your pocket....

Now you know how I felt when the 1st REVO came out a month after I bought my new at the time T-maxx.
I would punch babies for a brand new Blue Revo

Waste of money? Not even close. You get a real, high quality neu and a proven 2.4 ghz radio. I'd pay $200 more for the extra assurance of proven quality.

No, but Neu and mass-produced aren't usually in the same sentence.

Mate i dont think you have wasted your time. I think this is only the second truck to ever be released with a Brushless system. And the radio you get with it really is only good for a door stop at best. You have bought a top quality motor, a good speedy and a radio that you can tune to your hearts content. you should be happy. When you go out bashing with your mates that bought the RTR and they wonder why your motor lasts longer or why your truck doesnt flip on its lid every time you sneeze on the brakes your will be glad you spent the extra few dollars

Thanks for the replies. Honestly, I almost think I enjoy building them as much as driving them. When I really think about it I am glad I put it together myself. My soldering skills have improved ten fold since owning the E-revo
