    Promatchracing.com or Cheapbatterypacks.com

I have narrowed it down to these 2.

Matched 7 cell 4600's from promatch. (109.96 for 2 shipped)
    Unmatched 7 cell 5000'sfrom CBP.(125.86 for 2 shipped)

Decided against SPC since a matched pack is 72.70 or 87.90 per pack. I do not race or plan on racing my stock Slash.

I have some pro-match pack and all I can say is they are built very well.

I ordered 2 basic matched packs and I was sent a set with the platinums numbers.

Matched means all the cells they use in the packs have been checked, and they put together cells that have similar voltage. Unmatched is where they throw random cells into a pack. I bought 4 unmatched from Promatch and 3 of them had bad cells, I contacted them, and within a day recieved a refund. I made 3 7 cell packs out of the 4 I had and they have worked good since. I am very happy with Promatch! Buy the matched 7 cell pack and you will be amazed by the power!

There is a reason that cheapbatterypacks.com is so cheap.

Go with Pro-Match. I have 2 of the same batteries you are looking at. I have also used a friends cbp 5000mah before I got my GREAT BATTERIES. There's no comparison. Pro-Match's batteries are way better. More speed and run time. I get 40+ min runtimes in my VXL Stampede. My friend only gets 20+ min. runtimes out of his cheapbatterypack.com battery in his VXL Rustler.

Looks like promatch is the winner. I am glad too as they are cheaper than cheapbatterypacks.

One more thing, I have read somewhere that the side by side config for the batteries results in a better connection between the batteries thus lowering the resistance in the battery so thereby making the battery more powerful vs a stick pack config. Is this true? If so is it noticable? It looks like all of the top of the line batteries and the ones used in races are the side by side config. The reason why I ask is that I may be getting a Rustler VXL and I will be using the same 7 cell packs. The Rustler's battery compartment is only long enough to fit a hump style 7 cell and can accept either a stick cofig w\hump or a side by side config w/hump. The Slash's compartment is long enough to accept a flat 7 cell config but will only accept a 7 cell stick w/hump. So I don't know which config to get. So my only choice is to get a 7 cell stick config with the hump if I want to be able to use the packs in both cars. I know I said that I will not be racing but I just want get the most bang for buck.

for the kind of power that the titan 12t pulls, a stick pack will work. but you will be pushing it. The reason all racers have side by side assembled packs is due to the internal resistance of the pack. more resistance = less power. the way stick packs are assembled is by using thin stips of metal welded to the ends of each cell. Under high amp loads these metal stips can get extremely hot and burn your cells. Because stick packs are welded, the resistance in the stips is higher that in the solder joints on a side by side pack. The bars are directly SOLDERED to the cells. This lowers resistance because the soldeer joint and heavier bar is a much better conductor than the metal strip and welded joint.

Promatch and SMC racing teamed up to create the enerG cells. Anyone else that sells the EnerG cells will have to have bought them from either promatch or SMC. But because SMC and pro-match created them, thats who i would buy from. actually i just bought the pack being discussed here. Im still waiting to get it. Ive heard good things about them though.

Not to get off topic too much but which battery would have more power:
    7 cell 4600 Promatch or 3000 3s Maxamps?

7 cells will give you 8.4v
    a 3s LiPo will give you 11.1v
the LiPo will give you more punch, and it may equal out to be about the same run times depending on how you drive your truck. If you go easy on it, you will get a significant amount of run time out of the LiPo if you arent pulling high amp loads on it for the length of the run time.
Generally the higher capacity batteries will give you longer run times, but if you don't plan on running ur truck at full throttle with the 3s, it will give you good power when you need it and good run time.
but for those of us without money, the promatch 4600's will be a monumental improvement.

Also for us that runs the Spec class where you have to run the Nimh type the Pro-Match is the way to go. (I think)

My good friend run CBP batteries and he has had great luck with them and they hold up very well. I just ordered 2 7-cel packs from promatch so we will see how they compare when ever they arrive

I got the cells I wanted but I ordered 7-Cell with the 7th cell centered on top, they were for my son's Bandit VXL which will only take a hump style 7-cell pack. What they sent me was 7 flat which will work for the slash but I already have 3 flat pack for the slash.
