they are not the same tolerance.. for teh price you can't beat the tko.. but the boca swill show up imperfections in your case.. meaning if your case is not machined perfect, (like some 3.3 case thats why you have bearing failures and thats how i found out about the boca tolerances) you will not be able to turn the crankshaft when you tighten down the flywheel... it has happened to me and i use a tko and it worked but it did not last long because the case was not machined right.. but i have used them on my ws7 and got 4 gallons on it.. then i sold it the engine and the guy got 2 gallons and now he's replacing it

Found the bearing, but the ceramic boca is $40 while the TKO is $19.At this point I'm just gonna get the TKO.I've already had enough disappointment with the TZ,so I don't need to have another meltdown with a $40 bearing in the mix.

I no this is going to sound like i am busting you b---- but i am not your doing a fine job with the old 3.3, after this rebuild on the TZ i would just stay with the 3.3 $130.00 with the old one for trade in you get a new one, but thats just me.

If I could get this 3.3 to run right,I would leave it in there.I messed with it some more today and it seems alot better, but then again, that's what I thought last week until I got to the track and it still ran like crap. I gotta get it running tip-top for this weekend because I heard a rumor that there will be a new MT entry.

BTW,I thought the Traxxas ERP was $85 for the 3.3

traxxas erp is almost a joke. for what you pay for the erp you only have to spend a couple extra bucks and you get to keep your engine and get a another one

    Sam,
Why do you have to use a o.s.18tm crank in a o.s .18tz motor?

Well............Another one bites the dust! The 3.3 motor let loose last night. Not exactly sure what it was just yet.I pulled the head and sleeve out. There was some metal on top of the piston and one BIG gouge on the sleeve. Doesn't look anywhere as bad as the 18TZ did,but it's still toast. You can have it back now,James.I don't think I wanna buy it anymore, but thanks for the loaner anyway.

That's nuts Harry! How does that happen to someone two weeks in a row with two totally different engines? I guess it's that TQ pace you put them through that sends them out to the scrap yard
